As if being vertically challenged wasn't enough of a problem, you even get the blame when the tall guy stuffs-up ...

Mechanic working on Boeing 787 was too short to reach up and put a securing pin in the front landing gear.  So he gets a tall mechanic to do it.

"So, another taller mechanic stepped in. However, the second mechanic put the pin in the wrong recess."

But Headline:

REPORT BA 787 collapsed because the mechanic was too short to put “remove before flight” pin in the right hole

Headline could have just as accurately said Nose gear collapsed because BA hadn’t actioned a Service Bulletin published to prevent this particular Human Error.

True.  The CEO must be tall. (/s)

Had a wry smile when Angela Merkel was quoted at the scene of the recent floods

She said there aren't words in the German language to describe the surreal destruction.

I think she'll find there are the words. And they're really really long.

One of the gripes I have is how they categorize their "content". Surely they could use a bit more tact with articles like this one?

Today's journalistic inanity comes from Driven, the NZ Herald motoring subsidiary who are introducing a new numbering system. In this new system, 40 is more than 50. *Sigh*

They keep inventing words! Are they trying to get one in the latest dictionary?

Not sure if it was that dumb but last week the press had a headline saying about the 'Oarsome' Kayakers

Funny considering they use paddles.

Sounds pretty handy, Boilet, a device that when not being used as a Toilet, can be used to cook food in.

Or a painful skin infection on your bum - resulting from not sanitising the seat in a public WC.

Headline: "The real reason Harry and Meghan weren't invited to Barack Obamas birthday bash"

Actual article:

"Royal expert and author Angela Levin, who wrote Harry: Biography of a Prince, believes..."

"Others have speculated that perhaps..."

"Royal expert and writer, Camilla Tominey, speculated..."

Ah, so just a clickbait then, seeing there's no evidence-based comment anywhere in the article.

But it's the real reason! It says so!
