However, there is no overhead signage indicating this, you are in a traffic queue and the traffic in front of you is sat on top of the white arrows telling you which lane you should be in.....because the designers assumed only people who actually live wherever you are and know which lane to be in already will ever use the roads...

Whangarei used to have good overhead signs for this but last time I was there they had mostly been removed..

Probably removed by the windscreen washers so that confused people will sit for longer at the intersections.

Those windscreen smudgers are quite the scourge up there in Whangarei aren't they. Stopped in to fill up at a BP there, only one of the 5 buckets (the one closest to the checkout shed) had a squeegee in to de-bug my windscreen. When I stopped at the lights 200m up the road, there's 4 guys there washing windscreens with lovely green squeegees...

I dont want them using their unknown chemicals on my mint paint job. I dont want my fresh wax ripped straight off by the run off from that concoction they use.

Every time i go through there i tell them, No, no, no. Had one just try to go for it anyway so i just turned on my wipers and water jets..
Maybe those tards didnt realize cars are equipped with jets that spray water on the windscreen and windscreen wipers. Even better, you can clean your screen for free at a gas station and not leaves a huge mess or streaks.

Edit: Maybe im a bad person but ill include it anyway, The one time i did let them do my screen i had coins sitting in my coin holder in the middle of my car like below.. Guy asked for some form of payment and saw my coins, To his disappointment i refused given he offered to do it for me and didn't disclose any fee. I really really hate these people, Gathering income from stolen goods.

Different people have different experiences. We have had a window washer in Hastings for yonks. He looks rough but is a very pleasant, polite, hard-working guy. I am glad every time I see him. He is never pushy and is happy with whatever you give him. I live on a farm and my windscreen can get pretty bad from all the fertiliser crap they drop from the sky. That would quickly use up all the water in my reservoir. I don't know our window washer's back story. He looks like he could be (have been) a drug user. I don't know if he could get a regular job or not. But he works hard at what he does, he provides a real service, and he is there most days, rain or shine. He earns his money. At least he isn't lying on his backside at home waiting for the dole. I'm glad the authorities have left him in peace and I hope they continue to do so. There are two sides to every story.

Yep that bloke is going about his day doing what he needs to do to make ends meet. Good on him.

How ever he isnt a child bunking school, washing windows with stolen brushes, collecting money to buy a tinnie/fid and cigs then getting smashed on alcohol. Two different sides of the same story.

The Manawatu Standard's delivery practices.

They switched to being a morning newspaper a while back. They're now delivered by people on scooters early in the morning. Each paper is flat wrapped in clear plastic (that's a lot of wasted plastic each day) and just chucked onto the drive way of the subscriber. They don't have address labels or any other identifier on them.

Of course, some of them are blown by the wind around the place and we have no way of knowing where they came from.

Not as much as the waste of paper.

If the plastic was not there, you would not get a usable paper making the whole thing useless. If you want them to get out and hand deliver it to the odd few people that still want dead trees then the delivery would cost a considerable amount more.

The fact that Trade Me show the number of unanswered questions to all users not just the seller.

I may not wish to answer questions which are posed by idiots masquerading as human beings such as will I swap X for some magic beans or whatever.

Why should the whole world see (and be able to form erroneous conclusions from) the fact that I have chosen to ignore someone's question?

So, i spend some time picking out some stuff, go to use the code and it is invalid.

I click on the QS11 promotion banner, and in the fine print it says the promotion expired yesterday.

Thanks for wasting my time, computerlounge. Usually they are pretty good so i forgive them.

I goy a Sky perks email. It did say that the comp was extended, so I entered. Their email reply i got told me the draw will be a few days ago, and so on. Now, I know its extended, but perhaps crossing the i's and dotting the t's would be a good option.
