Yes. That is very obscure. Not like common words such as phrontistery.

Rude jerks who think it is perfectly OK to film people just doing their job!

http://www.nzherald.co.nz/travel/news/article.cfm?c_id=7&objectid=11849822

"When the agent began addressing customers, Boggan took out his iPhone 6s and started filming the scene on Snapchat. Quickly afterwards, the woman batted the phone away.

"Put your phone down," she said. According to the lawsuit, the employee then said it was "illegal" for him to be filming her.

Matthew's father, Brian Boggan, said other passengers then started yelling "this is child abuse"."

The ignorance of the father and other passengers is mind blowing, child abuse? Give me a break. What a bunch of snowflake petals.

Incredulous if this lawsuit goes anywhere, but not surprising given this is the USA.

Reminds me of a firm of builders in the UK called Patel's.

Their van had "you've tried the cowboys, now try the Indians!" written on the side.

Ha ha good one.

We built a large house so there were bound to be some things that go wrong. But, I didn't expect simple things like them using steel nails on our custom door... which rust and come through the paint.    Same with our electric gates, steel fasteners, which rust and leave rust streaks down the front of the gate. The roofing company did not properly cap the parapets either, and, the electrician left a whopping great whole in the top side of the house where the aerial cable goes in -- rain must have been getting in there for years.

At the risk of getting flamed, lack of attention to detail is a common Kiwi problem in many areas...not just building!

Texting acronyms like FHTKCUYPFTMBFADEYH or whatever. I am sick of having to look them up. Just use the F-ing words, people.

Lower Hutt CBDs roading network. Almost every interesection in Lower Hutt CBD is a roundabout. So in rush hour it is total grid lock, as people enter the round about even though they can't exit it, blocking other entry paths. Even though you aren't supposed to enter a roundabout if you can't exit it.

Also roundabouts do not really work well if there is a dominant traffic flow in one direction - it traps the vehicles approaching from the non-dominant directions as since no one ever gives way as a courtesy on NZ's roads, you just sit there....

There are some courteous drivers, and I try to be one of them where I can by letting people in, but they tend to be far and few between.  But yes you are right they don't work where there is a dominant traffic flow. Which is odd that councils choose to install them on their main roads. But as a result you do often good big build ups of traffic at the roundabouts. Lower HUtt is one of the worst, I cringe everytime I have to drive though that apart of Wellington, because there will often be at least one close shave. But guessing these roundabouts are cheaper to maintain and total cost over a long period is less.

Officious people including police and "security" bods who think or even worse, claim when they know it isn't, that it is illegal to film anywhere in a public place, and that assault and/or criminal damage is an acceptable way to prevent such filming

I also slow or pause to create a gap to give other vehicles a chance to enter the traffic flow and often get agro from the discourteous driver behind for doing so, which I simply ignore. I've found you can't rely on the people behind to obey the intersection blocking rule so I'll usually be generous with space on the other side of the intersection before making my way across.

As for roundabouts with dominant flows, it's a shame that the LTSA (it was that long ago) and local road controlling authorities didn't take up my suggestion for these of hybrid controlled intersections which were a straight roundabout for most of the time with signals to override the dominant flow at peak times. Unfortunately they are followers not innovators - it has to have been done somewhere else before they'll try it - and that place is usually Australia.

Before the Circles there was 40,000 sets of traffic lights, traffic flows were terrible. The worse issues in the Hutt are the Melling interchange(soon to be resolved, the dopey Saturday market and the Esplanade. Oh and of course Queensgate.
