I was thinking of going to see Now You See Me 2, but then I saw the Stuff review.

Its one of the best reviews I have ever read! It is coherent, on-point, and completely, utterly scathing.

I'll have to watch the movie when I can stream it for free, just to see if it is as bad as the reviewer reckons!

Why wouldn't they name the movie "Now You Don't"? Even the name is terrible.

Nowadays, you get about 4-5 movies that is actually worth your time watching, in an entire 12 month period. And another 10-20 that is phenomenal on paper, but a waste of time and money when you get there, and the rest I don't even bother.

'The Big Short' - events surrounding the start of the Global Financial Crisis. Thought it was great but I have more than a passing interest in this stuff (no pun intended).

The book is also worth a read to go over some of the details.

It also suggests there were a few others who thought the same think was going to happen but refused to speak to the author.

Look who's Back on NZ Netflix 9/10

German with English subtitles based on the book.
Hitler wakes up in Berlin 2014, tries to work out what has happened, meets a recently fired free lance documentary maker trying to restart his career. Goes on a road trip, meets modern Germans with complaint about foreigners etc. Becomes you tube tv personality. Rises and falls.
Interesting to see how his political polices of nationhood, etc which resulted in him being elected still appeal to some.

"The Mechanic"

I'd rate it 10/10. Great action packed Jason Statham movie.

I've recently seen both X-Men Apocalypse and Alice Through The Looking Glass. Highly disappointed with both. In X-Men the main antagonist was just plain awful, Apocalypse should have been the X-Men's greatest foe and sure he had heaps of really awesome powers but the way they defeated him ruined the entire film for me. On a positive note however I thought the younger X-Men were entertaining with Quicksilver especially bringing some quite nice funny moments. Yes you are right Bryan Singer the third film is always the worst and that includes James McAvoy's X-Men. 5/10 (I may watch this again one day and decide I was too harsh on it as I went in with high expectations)

Alice however suffered from just a lacklustre story with the same rehashed characters from the original film most of who didn't really fit anywhere in the story anyway. Sacha Baron Cohen as Time was the only refreshing piece in the whole movie. I'm always quite surprised about how good an actor the man who created Borat actually is. 5/10

Monster from 2003 starring Charlize Theron. 8/10. Not for the faint hearted.

The film tells the true story of female serial killer Aileen Wuornos. Charlize Theron puts in amazing performance and fully deserved her Oscar.

Watched this based on your recommendation - thought it was brilliant. Was watching on my own and was laughing long and loud - doesn't happen much when I watch alone. Black humour some of it and really insightful commentary on contemporary issues (at least in Germany) seen through the eyes of a 'recent arrival'. 9/10?

Unbroken - The movie wasn't bad BUT! I watched this after reading the book and the tact they took with the telling of the story in the movie vs the book really missed out on some of the fundamentals of his life, the love and heartbreak of the family and some of what the other characters went through. The most endearing part of the book for me was the relationship between Phil and Cecy and how that kept him alive.

Unfortunately you can't cover an epic story that happened over many, many years in a 2 hour and 10 min story.

All in All I have decided I won't read the book before the movie again and instead watch the movie first!

I refuse to watch any more X-Men movies. The latest one sounds like garbage.

I once told my manager (at the time) she looked like the character (Aileen) and yeah oddly it didn't go down to well lol.

I've recently watched The Brothers Grimsby which had some laughs but I was not actually aware that he'd given it the full Borat treatment with regards to some of the scenes which made some of the movie hard to want to keep watching.  Overall if you've not seen it and liked the Borat movie then you'd probably enjoy this one if you don't like the style of comedy then probably not a good idea checking it out.  5 out of 10 for me.

Also watched X-Men Apocalypse.  I quite enjoyed it but it is a lot darker in nature than the previous films.  It seems to me that if they keep pushing things this way then it won't be long before the X-Men movies are R Rated.  Overall though I enjoyed the introduction of a lot more characters into the mix as well as fleshing out some more of the back stories. 7.5 out of 10.

Forgot to mention the Warcraft movie.  As far as fantasy movies goes it was pretty good and a nice way to introduce people to the world of Warcraft.  Easy enough to follow and understand without knowing anything about Warcraft previously too.  Won't win any acting awards but still worth a watch 7 out of 10.
