would not be fun taking the ferry out to Waiheke tomorrow the marine forecast has winds at 45 knots with 4 meter swells

Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.

Would the ferry even travel in those conditions?

DarthKermit: To tell you the truth, I'm looking forward to the rain. Our lawn is way more brown than green so that at least will be good for the plant life.

Yea need some rain down our end of town too! The lawn has been brown for weeks. Gave it the obligatory 2-week mow but pretty much just ended up with dirt in the catcher lol.

Pretty much nothing other than my usual paranoia.

Being in Wairarapa we get wind all the time (well, often) so we usually keep the place battened down.

Checked Metservice rural forecast and we are not scheduled to get much of Lusi really so no dramas.

JIC I have the EQ kit in the Bunker (it's a container we will use as a house in case of The Big One) and will have my PLB on my belt.

We have plenty of firewood and tinned food as well as over 5000 litres of stored rainwater too.

Oh - plus 4 rifles, 2 shotguns, 2 dogs, fishing gear, a second PLB and so on in case it really falls apart.

You may get some heavy falls of rain and wind to around 45 knots, Martinborough and around there could be hit quite a bit as possibly the Tora Coast

Can confirm Masterton has been fairly windy lately. Expecting more of the same.

Jeeze, I've only mown our lawns once this year. At least the lack of rain has been good for something!
