The Star in a Rallycross Car segment sounds like it could be entertaining, I think Top Gear could be decent in a year or two once they get rid of most of the ~8 presenters and see who fits best as a permanent panel.

I'm not going to buy a paid service just for the The Grand Tour.

I shall be watching it in bed Monday morning. BBC iplayer or the usual live streams. Extra Gear a 30 minute follow up behind the scenes might be interesting as well.

It will be interesting to judge peoples reaction and I am quite sure BBC Top Gear have got a hard road ahead of them. Chris Evans is quite good on the radio, but he does not do it for me on TV. It remains to be seen. I didn't realise Prime are showing it a week later, which is good news. But I will stick to my live HD stream for now.

Agreed - it'll be great when they get rid of the 8 presenters, and C,H & M return triumphant and much richer...!!

Personally I like 5th Gear with all the original Top gear Castoffs such as Tiff and Viki.

IMO Tiff makes 5th gear unwatchable pretty much.

If it focuses on the cars then it will be good if it doesn't then there is Fifth Gear.

Critics have universally panned it.

If the critics have panned it the new series will be great.

My iplayer is not cooperating at the moment so will try again tonight. Expectations are low so it will probably be better than expected.

Clarkson's opinion does not amount to much, he likes British cars and said the Veyron would never be made.

To be fair, he likes lots of nations cars, they spend a lot of time praising manufacturers from all over Europe. He has not been a big fan of most American cars, but I believe his opinion is bourne out by lots of car critics. His recent opinions on American cars has been more positive.

BTW that wasn't Clarksons opinion, that was someone suggesting that would be his reaction to watching the new top gear, such was the suckiness of the show according to the person who posted that picture.
