Nety: Have you contacted Youshop? it should have arrived by now.

Ok have done the online chat. It actually worked quite well, considering I'm using an iPad on a moving train :) (yay 2degrees)

The result was:

Rebecca: Thank you for your patience, both of your item left the Warehouse on the 17 th of November. The target for delivery to your NZ address if 7-11 working days from this date, so you would expect to have received them on or by the 4 th of December. You will receive a email notification once they arrive into NZ with the tracking number also being supplied at this time.

Joseph: Ah, ok. The confirmation email said 5-7 days, then I should receive an email with tracking number.

Rebecca: That is correct, this is when the items are expected to arrive into NZ, but does not include Customs. So the 7 th working day is due tomorrow. If your items do arrive tomorrow you will receive your email at this time. but the item are not expected to your NZ address until the 4 th of December all going well and having no hold up in Customs.

Cheers,
Joseph

Far out... mine arrived in the warehouse last Thursday NZ time, and it's not leaving for New Zealand until this Thursday NZ time, and then it's got to go through customs as well...

Looks like I'm not getting my package for another couple of weeks...

Does anyone know whether you can speed up the customs process by calling the customs service early, before receiving the letter (and just give them your tracking number)?

Replying to myself. Just now received email that the package has arrived in New Zealand, and once through customs will be 2 to 3 days.

Cheers,
Joseph

I have tried my first ship. Post charges by volumetric weight so possibly a package that is relatively light but in a large box might attract more postage than if it were packed more compactly? Anybody had experience with that scenario?

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

So I finally got the email to pay for my package... about 10 days after it being signed for - but oh well at least it is there now.

Cost me $22 - 15% discount code so $18.70. No bad considering I just ordered some in ear headphones from Amazon and they charged $27. Would most likely have been cheaper to use their free shipping to Youshop then pay postage from there.

Kinda have to wonder if they underestimated demand, the 15% discount over black Friday week and cyber Monday won't have helped either.

So far spent 45 minutes on the phone and have called NZ Post 3 times and Customs once, Customs are saying the declared value on the parcel is $2, when on my youshop invoice it clearly states $250 USD. Having a hard time getting a hold of someone at NZ Post who can actually help, Customs seem to think that it is the sender either falsely declaring or a human input error at NZ Post with the value.

Not a great first experience.

One last update from me, package has arrived.
Yesterday's email at 1700 said 2-3 days, package arrived this morning with confirmation of delivery email at 1030.

Apart from a little confusion about how many days its was likely to take, I am very happy with the service, and will certainly use again.

Cheers,
Joseph

Did you have to pay customs duty, or was your item under the threshold?

I didn't realise you needed an invite code. How do you get one?

This is OT but I think remarkable. Ordered a Jawbone Jambox for my son's Xmas present from Amazon US on Sunday afternoon. Was coming direct so did not need to use YouShop. Shipping from Kentucky.

It arrived at my Auckland CBD delivery address mid-afternoon yesterday (Thursday). Hard to believe. Local cost is $ 300. Amazon charged me NZ$182 all-up, new item in retail packaging.

Sometimes I just sit and think. Other times I just sit.

Had a similar experience last time I ordered from Amazon, ordered Friday 4pm and had it in my hands the following Monday afternoon.

Anyway back OT, just ordered my first shipment through Youshop so interested in how it goes.
