Creepy. I read that post then got a Tui garden email, where one part mentioned Garden Inspo

Latest new word is born!

Creepy? I was listening to a podcast while walking down to the mall (Lore, for anyone interested) and he mentioned about someone's partner who claimed to be able to talk to angels.

At that moment a car passed by and the plate was... ANGELS.

Really? is this what makes news these days - https://www.stuff.co.nz/life-style/homed/how-to/300973328/little-known-trick-to-help-you-fit-almost-anything-in-the-dishwasher

Its not a f'ing hack, its a feature - RTFM!

This is in the Life and Style section. If you don't want this kind of thing then don't read that section. You don't have to. You can stop anytime. You clicked, now I clicked, other people here clicked. Proven value for advertisers. Later I will check my dishwasher. I think it does not have variable height feature ; ).

I clicked too

My wife is efficient. So efficient that of she had her way the dishwasher would be maximised... Then why did the powder or tablet not fall out well???

Best not to have 98% dishes and 2% space....

It would be unusual if it doesn't unless it's a Dishdrawer. Miele have a top rack that can lift on one side to allow for big plates and still have room for tall glasses.

My daughter and husband in Sydney (both impractical) spent three years laying dinner plates down flat on the bottom rack because dishes wouldn’t fit to stand up. You could hardly fit anything in it. They decided it must have been an Asian version that was made for smaller bowls and dishes.etc. When I visited a few weeks ago it drove me nuts and I even planned to buy them a new dinner set with smaller plates and set about measuring height it would take etc.

While they were at work, thought I might look up the manual...sure enough there was a simple top rack adjustment which I did. Oh joy being able to fill the dishwasher properly. Only thing that didn’t fit any more were extra long stem wine glasses in the top rack.

OK, setting aside the fact that these job losses will impact people; surely this headline is grammatically backwards:

"140 redundancies to go" would mean there is going to be 140 fewer redundancies, yes?  I.e. laying off less staff??

Or there were more and this is the last 140?    The words "to go" are superfluous as well as misleading

Sean Plunket continues to peddle his conspiracy bullshit nonsense apparently:

RNZ: On his own outlet The Platform, Sean Plunket recently claimed there were “rumors” that Stuff is underwritten by Ngai Tahu. He said this may explain why Stuff had “gone all woke and critical race theory.”

“No, we don't have any financial relationship with Ngai Tahu. This is something that continues to be thrown up by certain parties, ever since I bought the company for $1,” she [Boucher] said. ‘It is what it is. I do not have any other funders, secret backers or not-secret backers - or anything like that. But I feel like there was a certain group of men who present this as: ‘She couldn't possibly have done this herself. Who are the real people standing behind her?’” she said.

There is an alarming amount of made up nonsense around unfortunately. If reality is not what you want it to be then it must be a conspiracy.

I’m not sure that commenting that you’ve heard a rumour constitutes peddling anything, really.

Expecting every rumour to be 100% run down as to veracity before any member of the media mentions it is probably unrealistic as a goal. It’s not as if RNZ, Stuff, The Herald etc never have to apologise for things that turn out to be not as they claimed.

For crazy conspiracy theorists, a "rumour" is 100% fact. You may not take it as something to rely on, but hundreds and thousands of people hear a dog whistler every time a conspiracy theorist says "I've heard a rumour"

Not if the host is a grifter.
