Yeah, because everyone is happy to wait 4 days to get the answer to a question about if something is in stock or something. Posted letters are a relic and should die alongside linear broadcast prerecorded television.

Imho this is the average time car parts suppliers take to respond to a similar email question.

We have this great invention for getting more immediate answers, called...the telephone. You enter someone else's number and they answer and you can speak to them and ask them right there and then...

Which leads me to another annoyance - people who will only reply by telephone, even to emails. Mostly because they don't want to leave a paper trail, if nothing is written down, they can promise the world and then "forget" about it.

Agreed. If I was wanting to speak to them I would have phoned them. But I think another reason is laziness, I may ask several questions in an email and it is easier FOR THEM to phone me rather than give a detailed written response.

That a registered charity can use their logo'd vehicle (parent?) do the School run each day including pickups at 3.20 each day.

Even during the Christchurch and Kaikoura Earthquakes.

(Red Cross Disaster Relief 4WD)

They obviously don't need any donations from me.

Don't you mean ' linear broadcast television'?  I can't imagine we will allowed to watch an episode of Game of Thrones live?

No, because that isnt a linear broadcast, it is on demand via the internet. Linear pre recorded is when they decide to play something like that on a schedule over a broadcast channel instead of using them for live stuff like they are good at.

Posts putting items up for sale in the Offers and Wanted forum asking for offers instead of stating the asking price, even when the guidelines clearly say to include one.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

Unclear actions with inadequate warnings in IT systems.

I have a Sony Android phone I want no email on - I just want to use it for listening to music because it has LDAC.

I went to remove the email accounts from the phone (I use Newton) and clicked on Remove. No warnings and it seemed logical to assume that I was removing the accounts from the handset on which the command was being given.

Go to desktop later...and find all my email accounts deleted from Newton. Gee, thanks.

Online menus requiring completion of irrelevant personal/marketing details before progressing an order...
Doubly so for the ones where there is no correct response, and no open/‘other’ option either!

Sounds about right. Early versions of Apple iCloud were similar. I set up computer A the way I wanted it, and it applied the same settings to computer B. I restored computer B to how I wanted it, and it moved those back to computer A. Argh! I have two different computers because I want two different computers!

When you have one with no app drawer, and no functioning search and you have lost some apps and the only way to find them is in the play store is another one that I get often on my cheapie.

Just tried to download/install Office 2016 on my Mac. Microsoft's site tells me that I'm on an unsupported OS and that I need at least OS 10.10 (I'm on 10.12). I choose to continue anyway and it tries to take me to a URL starting with ms-windows-store://, which obviously doesn't work on a Mac!

Edit: This ended up being code for "your email address doesn't match". I got it all installed. Then, a few minutes into writing a Word document it decided to pop up with a "cannot connect to server" dialogue box even though I'd never asked it to.

That on 17 May I reported that the gutter was broken so bad that any storm water from my end of the street went through the break in the kerb and not to the sump.

(The Enable Contractors broke it laying the fibre pipes for the street)

The CCC supposedly passed the job to Downers a week later. (According to the CCC Call Center)

Still nothing done, (2 1/2 months later) and with all the rain recently it will now be a major repair.

The road surface (Bitumen) is now slumping and cracking.

I'm now waiting for it to swallow a car or one of the School buses!

They certainly passed:

How to make a minor repair a major one 101.

To make it worse, the system also completely deleted my html email signatures.

I now have to go online and create new ones, which will inevitably be different from the previous ones, because I cannot remember where I got them from.

Can you look at one of your "sent" emails and copy from there?

"[app] runs on many platforms. Get the Unix version here and the Windows version here."

Apparently two is "many" now!
