My package arrived at the youshop warehouse on monday afternoon and just got an email saying it arrived there (from youshop) this afternoon. Used the kiwibank 15% off coupon. Ouch volumetric weight! (0.5kg actual, 1.2kg volumetric.. a single pair of VFFs.. $22 after coupon)

Third parcel 'just arrived' and post paid (1.5kg). Still waiting for the second parcel to ship though (3 days and counting)

Not impressed. It's now been over 7 days since my package left the warehouse, and zero notifications (still 'On the way to NZ'). Not to mention that it took 6 days for them to process the parcel to leave the warehouse in the first place. I needed it for this weekend, and chances are it won't arrive to Christchurch in time.

I have the funny feeling that it's actually in Auckland, but I haven't been notified. How can it take something 7 days to get to Auckland from Oregon?

Will definitely look into a different service in the future.

While it's nice to know every step of the journey, at the end of the day does it REALLY matter?

I knew my item was going to take a while to get here. I wasn't in a hurry - or else I wouldn't have imported in this fashion.

It's typically cheap. Deal with it.

Does anyone have a discount code other than kiwibank10? I already used that one up.

It took them about 36 hours to register one package had arrived at the warehouse and notify me, the other took 48 hours, both from amazon. Last time it took about a week to get from the US to NZ, which is fine. If you want something fast you use one of the other reshippers that uses fedex express.

I would need to go through the posts here, but I wonder if they only have 1/2 shipments leaving a week from Portland to New Zealand. My first parcel was paid for in time to get to this shipment, but the second has to wait ..

Maybe. Just guessing.

For the record while I don't mind the tracking issues that much, taking several days before processing the package on arrival to the warehouse (therefore delaying your payment and eventual shipment) is definitely annoying. I am pretty sure I was notified quite quickly but if it had been a few days or more I would be upset.

Tracking issues seem to be quite common, not just with youshop. My gopro3 is on its way to the youshop warehouse by ground (only a mere 2300 miles!) and was last updated on saturday, considering its a 30hour drive it has surely gone through a couple of sorting facilities, but no updates..
That mixed with the delays im bound to run into when it a)gets to the warehouse and b)gets to customs in NZ, this may be a 3 week process Surprised

My experience has been flawed, my item was shipped on the 21st of November, and has arrived today, but it wasn't the shipping time that was the issue. As far as YouShop is telling me, my item is still on it's way to NZ. I guess the positive is that I was given an estimated delivery date of the 11th. This wouldn't stop me from using the service again, but at least I now know what to expect.

I believe the items are shipped twice a week from the warehouse, and this can contribute to the delay, but in terms of ease of use and the price, i'm fairly happy.

Edit: I guess the main thing to consider is the time of the year, with Black Friday and Cyber Monday having a big impact on YouShop's forwarder, there will also be a considerable amount of traffic coming into the country for Christmas.

Thanks, I'll use that next time, went ahead already because it was only $35 anyway.

Used this several times already, so is ok for multiple use. Do you know when it expires?

As for my parcel, I decided to ask live chat why it was still waiting for dispatch and was told it was sent today and the website will be updated after 3.30pm.

Hi Guys.

I made up a guide to YouShop here using knowledge from LiveChats, this forum and the website.

Hopefully it'll be of some use

a) Wait for a letter
The standard procedure is for NZ Post to send a letter with the customs detail, and the total due. This does not include the $135.82 fee from NZ Post to facilitate the clearance through customs unless you specifically ask for the service. In most cases you can pay Customs directly yourself.
This letter typically takes 1 to 3 working days to arrive, and it has all the details you need to pay customs.

Is this fee separate from the customs you have to pay? (in the next step)

Arrrgggg, volumetric weight sucks! my 2.3kg turned into 5. something kg! Which has doubled the cost. If NZ post is looking to improve this service that would be one area they could try and improve on.  my $60 postage is probably still worth it as the items I am getting were not eligible for shipping to NZ, but adds a lot to the cost!
