I had intended to only watch the final episode, which I missed as a kid (no vcrs), but ended up watching all 26 episodes. I’ve now started on Space 1999 which was originally going to be called “UFO:1999”.

Space 1999 starts out OK, but by its second season it had descended into an "Alien species of the Week" show, and really lost its way.....

Mind you the "Eagles" are still the coolest space vehicle to come out of 70s/80s sci fi TV

Yeah, I have to admit I’m only a few episodes into Space 1999 and is already heading into “Soap Opera in Space” territory. The special effects are better in the 5 years between the production of this and UFO. And in the supposed 15 years between when the series are set, they have entered the “beige” era.

Have just watched E1 of Fallout. I don’t normally watch TV during daylight hours but was keen to see this. Also excusable because it’s wet and windy here. 😀

It’s great imo and can see why it’s rating 8.7 on IMDB and 85-93% on Rotten Tomatoes . Hope it can keep this up through to E8. All episodes are available. I suspect it will particularly appeal to fans of the video games, like me. Non-gamers perhaps not quite as much. It’s quite violent, graphic and gory.

After what they did with Westworld (despite getting a bit ropey in the later seasons), I had faith that Nolan and Joy would ensure it would be a good watch..

I've not played the video game and have little knowledge of it beyond name-recognition, but also watched the first episode last night and really enjoyed it.  Big fan of Walton Goggins particularly from his time on The Shield.  Already easier to follow than Halo for example, looking forward to watching the rest of the season over the next couple of weeks.

Only watched one season of Westworld, if never really resonated with me, though I appreciate it is well-regarded by almost everyone else.  Interested to see that Nolan & Joy were involved in both, along with one of my recent favourites in The Peripheral.  Really disappointed to recently learn that got cancelled as a casualty of the Writers Strike last year.

Fallout is enjoyable to watch but only 6/10 for me because it makes so little sense for Fallout-free me or my Fallout-experienced son. To explain the would involve too many spoilers. So if you’re not seeking internal consistency then you should enjoy it more than us.

Fallout is similar to Westworld for me. That is a big recommendation. Again, one of my favourite actors is a gunslinger. Again, lots of intriguing mysteries. But again, I expect the flaws that I already see in Fallout will become major fault lines in later seasons just as they did in Westworld.

I binged the series but nearly gave up after episodes 2 & 3 because of the overly fragmented story telling which was also getting boring. Apparently that abrupt chopping and changing is a feature of Nolan's work so I decided to continue on to episode 4 which wasn’t directed by him. The season definitely flowed better after that.

Fight scenes lack tension because they are unrealistic and often played for laughs and gore - the timing and editing seems to be consistently off. CGI can also be very average. Mid century music is great but it needs to be used more sparingly for greater impact. They sure saved a lot on sets by using abandoned settlements.

Nearly finished watching Ripley (IMDb) on Netflix. B&W crime thriller, eight episodes, set in 1960s Italy. Starts off a little slow in the first couple of episodes but plot thickens - becomes really very good imo.

Just binged Fallout, thoroughly enjoyed it, absolute shame it's such a short season.. It's downright depressing how few episodes we get of shows these days.. Bring back the days of 20+ episodes

I quite enjoyed it. I would have been upset if I missed it.

WElcome to Wrexham season 2.
I've never been so completely invested in a club I have no attachment to, nor a town I have never visited.

It's a testament to the creators of this docuumentary that they have made the world fall in love with a little Welsh mining town that fell on hard times and the football team that fell from the heights of the Football League and struggled to get back there.

What a rollercoaster. 10/10

~20 episodes season were basically a function of the US TV industry (RIP) and the US climate

Shows would premiere in Fall ( September) and run up until a Holiday winter break, - This is why many shows developed the 2 part "cliff hanger episode" which would bookend the start of the mid season break in December, and the resumption in February... shows would then continue through until about May,

Over the Summer ( and school break) they tended to have reruns as audiences were lower.. and since the mid 70s Summer was the period when Blockbuster movies were released, - (led by Jaws, June 75 , then Star wars May 77) - This was heavily based on the assumption that it was easy to attract movie goers to a nice air conditioned theatre in the hot summers in the US.

Sugar - Apple TV

Detective Series based on a guy who specialises in finding lost people.

Colin Farrel is the protagonist. It's a bit weird, hopefully, it starts coming together, there are a lot of threads so far.

Fallout S1 Prime. Overall I enjoyed it. I rate it. Having said that, there is no way I could have watched this regularly if I had not eventually made binge time for it. Incredible and awesome detail in the sets. It is slow in places. It took me several episodes on the couch to get hooked.

We’ve watched one and a half episodes so far. I’m enjoying it. My wife less so. Some oddness about it, but I like that.
