Not specifically the headline, but the front page of the Herald website in general:

The headlines simply repeat as you scroll down. Why?? What’s the point of making the page 6 feet long in scrolling terms when the actual content is in one foot and repeated under in order for the next five feet?!

There is a new beach in Auckland, apparently named after one of Himself's ancestors.

The spelling police need to be investigating as well.

EDIT: it's been fixed now (10:35am). Spelling police to the rescue!

https://www.rnz.co.nz/news/national/564207/kiwi-who-killed-a-melbourne-motorcyclist-in-a-hit-and-run-to-be-deported-from-australia

At least at the time of publication there's an internal note visible at the bottom of the article ("fyi italics don't work within link brackets").

I also question calling the offender a "Kiwi" when he's spent his entire life in Australia. I would have thought that someone raised in Australia would be an Aussie, even if not born there.

Facebook screensnip.

No shit, Sherlock.  What do you suggest? Queuing up at the self-service-checkout because the wife said I had to bring milk and bread home, even though I could die of smoke inhalation or burn to a crisp.

In a Stuff article about the most livable cities

I'm guessing the author didn't go to school in Auckland.

It has been corrected 😃

Auckland has moved up a couple of spots to joint seventh, alongside Osaka in Japan. The City of Sails scored perfect marks for education, with its lowest score coming in the infrastructure category. It did have the best score for culture and environment of those in the top 10.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

It might be OK - depending on what they were trying to say. From a search:

Eduction (noun) has a few technical or formal meanings depending on context:

1. General Meaning:

• The act of bringing out, drawing forth, or developing something that was latent or hidden.

• Example: The eduction of truth from conflicting evidence.

2. Scientific/Technical Usage:

• In chemistry or mining, it can refer to the extraction or separation of substances.

• Example: The eduction of gas from the ore.

3. Logic or Reasoning (rare):

• Drawing a conclusion or inference.

• Similar to deduction, but less common.

Would be much more interesting if they had said ‘seduction’.

"The inside view of one of the [B-2] bombers."
No, Stuff, it isn't.

Based on the eight sets of little round dials on the centre panel, I'd guess it's a B-52.

Good grief, RNZ.

But he said it did not meant that the woirry was over. "I don't think we're fully out of the woods yet... if you see direct action on oil faccitlieis, oil tankers, the Strait of Hormuz dirtectly, that changes the game back. We're not there but I don't think we shuld immediately say the risk is all over. It's just that it seems to be a lot more settled for now."
