Last time I searched for what you suggest would have been before I was weaned from the earth mothers, at age 9, back at the hippy commune. 

Drop in to local well-known computer/parts store to get a short USB-USBC cable to charge my phone in the car.  Salesperson collects 3 "different" cables in boxes from the display, puts them on the counter. One is labelled 1m, one is 100cm, one 1000mm.  "Too long" I say. "What about the other two" is the reply.

My Logitech trackball.

Never used a trackball mouse before. Had a wrist injury last year and found that, despite surgery etc, my wrist ached like mad if I used the computer for a long period.

Before going for a vertical mouse, I decided to try a trackball (because Logitech had just revamped theirs and it looked good). Took a wee while to get used to not moving the mouse itself, but once that passed, I can't see myself ever going back to a normal mouse now. Wrist is AOK ever since.
