I ordered an 'In Stock' TV Tuner, paid by credit card, two weeks ago.
I rang last Wednesday, they said it wasn't in stock, and would be sent that afternoon because they had some coming in.
I rang last Thursday, said it would be sent that day.
I rang last Friday, they said it would definitely be sent then.

Wouldn't have minded if they had just said to me, sorry we mucked up, it isn't actually in stock, would you like us to cancel the order.
So I rang today and asked them to cancel the order. They are definitely in breach of the Fair Trading Act - misleading conduct, saying something is in stock when it wasn't. I wouldn't have ordered from them if it wasn't in stock.

I wonder whether they are having problems with suppliers.. whatever they are having problems with, it is no excuse to not at least let us know what the delay is.

I just tried to view the TradeMe listing again for their old website and I got a message saying that it'd been removed by the administrator - looks like they're not going to get any money that way.

I've just heard from another thread they have closed as of today!!!! :(
oh crap, I hope my chargeback still goes through, I got a very weird delivery today, overnight courier, half the parts missing, this better not mean they are ripping people off, getting rid of the stock on hand and closing for good :( Or I'll seriously drive upto Auckland and do something, maybe confickt them

As of a few minutes ago,  their web site was still active.

I think everyone is being unfair to them,   you should read the following from their web site,  and because it's on the internet it just has to be true Wink

not sure if we are allowed to post direct links to other websites but:

the game planet forums have some dirt on them

haha nice sarcasm kiwiscoota Laughing, did you get ripped off too? Just can't believe how many people have now been left in the dark :(
At least those that paid with credit card can get there money back.  Direct deposits cost $80 minimum to track back, not worth it for those who have smaller orders

Oh :( they haven't been answering their phones at all today either, it's either ring ring, engaged and for a few hours disconnected, then engaged again weird

But, if anyone wants it I have one of the C1com administrators trademe accounts, I'm just waiting to message them through it about my order, I could check up on anyone elses if they want too

No,  I was sort of fortunate, I ordered something from another Auckland based webshop (the price was the same as C1) and then had to tolerate weeks of BS about the distributor not having stock,  it was only after calling the distributor who confirmed they had plenty of stock and had not been out of stock at any time and then calling the "webshop" and telling them to stop with BS and give me a tracking number or I would immediately take action against them (I used some appropriate lawyer-speak) that they finally shipped my order.

Yeah, sounds like the pricks have gone out of business and are even now receiving orders from poor sods that don't know. What a-holes. Doubt I'll see my $140 again. Hopefully there's now enough negative press on google to stop people ordering from them

The Auction successfully closed and was passed in below reserve (to utterly no surprise) and now it has been "withdrawn" even after full closing and doing so for more than a day last time I looked.

I'd wonder if they actually had the rights to sell code that was developed by someone else.

The code may have been copyright protected by the american company (DreamWeb) that appears to have written the original code......

I don't think a small thing like copyright would get in the way of these bozos making some money. They're broke and desperate.

I'm not sure that them not answering calls today means they are shutting up shop.
Certainly not a good sign though.

Reminds me of the Mark Twain quotation after hearing that his obituary had been published in the New York Journal,  "reports of my death have been greatly exaggerated".

That said, I agree that any company not answering calls does immediately cause concern,  especially when rumours have been floating around for some time about their operation.
