I placed an order last Wednesday with C1 ShoppingMall Ltd, sent them an eMail on Monday asking when I could expect the "In Stock" items to ship and got what looked like an autoresponse saying they were busy. I emailed them again on Wednesday and got no response at all. Called them just now and both their main phoneline and fax number appear to have been disconnected.

Regardless, I'm off to the bank now to file a reverse-charges claim, but does anyone know anything else about them?

I was about to order a 750GB Samsung Spinpoint F1 drive off them on Tuesday for $157 + shipping.  Waited a day and checked back yesterday and the price had gone up to $198 + shipping.  So their website is definitely being maintained.

I'm glad I didn't place the order now.  Got the same thing from Computer Lounge for $159 including shipping.  But now I'm getting off topic...

I hope not.. I have brought a few things from them. They are slow but sometimes their pricing is very good.

They've recently undergone a site redesign. They've always been understaffed, meaning delays and poor service. I've been trying to get two hard drives replaced for a while now, it's slow and painful but I guess there's no option but to keep trying.

I'll be taking my business elsewhere in future. C1 don't even seem to realise there's a major problem with the service they provide.

They rang me last Monday to check delivery details of the order that I'd asked to be cancelled the previous week. After eventually working out who they actually were (the girl's english was not great), I again told them to cancel the order, although I've also already done a charges-dispute via the bank. I've yet to receive anything via them or the bank. She seemed quite surprised that I thought they were too slow.

I'd strongly recommend NOT dealing with this company. Saving a few bucks is not worth the hassle, stick to the reputable outfits that actually answer their phones.

I too have complained about how slow they are, and they do tend to act surprised and seem to genuinely think that they provide speedy, competant service.

I second your warning, I got sucked into buying a whole custom PC and, while I did save a good amount of money at the time, it really isn't worth the saved dollars when trying to get any support. Computer Lounge and the like are far better.

I built my PC about a year ago and bought some parts from them. I didn't have any hassles then and it was all good.
Maybe they've had a change around in management or something?

But have you contacted support? I got my PC almost a year ago, the buying process was fine, but a month or two later, my first encounter with their customer service left me less than impressed.

Now this has been aggrevated by the website redesign apparently consuming much of their time.

c1's service has turned to garbage. On another new zealand website, a whole LOT of people were all complaining about the same generic thing "I ordered and paid for X item(s) and even though the website said X item(s) was in stock I waited 1-2 months before I got my product". It's redicolous and some people have started calling up shows like fairgo etc to try and run a segment on c1.

Anyone received their orders yet?

I'm still waiting :(
Steve did you do a direct deposit or credit card?
I'm pretty sure it only takes a few days for a credit card claim.  I'll be off to do mine this afternoon if I don't get the answer on the phone when they open.

Apparantly computer lounge are the next big thing, they do credit card orders too and price match any other site on pricespy.  Haven't tried them yet, but I will if this garbage service continues with c1com, definitely never ordering with them again after this.

Hi guys, have the same problem with these muppets. I've ordered a few items from there before and received decent service. However this time it's been over ten days for a hard drive that was listed in stock. I've emailed them a few times, and had just the one unhelpful reply that they're busy and will try to get it to me in "2 days". That was about 4 days ago. Calling them is a waste of time as you just get a busy signal.

Really poor service and I wont be using them again.  Plus their new website is awful. What was wrong with the old one? Not to mention the order page is still under construction, which is COMPLETLY unnacceptable for a mostly web based business. They should never have put that website online without the order page working first.

I only live 5 minutes drive from ETC Computers, who aren't brilliant but good enough for a hard drive. I should have just picked up one from there. Guess that's what I get for being lazy :(

Another vote for Computer Lounge.  I ordered a hard drive a couple of weeks ago from them after originally looking at C1 (see my earlier thread).

I placed the order before lunch on Wednesday as I wanted to ensure I had it for the weekend.  They did not ship it until late Thursday, but that should not have been an issue as the courier should have delivered it the following day.  Well, late Friday arvo came around and no delivery.  After speaking with the courier company I found that they had given it to a courier driver in Takanini and not a CBD courier driver!

I wanted it delivered to my work place which is on Princes St, Auckland CBD.  I put CBD in the address details on Computer Lounge's website, but somehow it got truncated so the courier company was trying to deliver it to Princes St in Takanini!

After talking to the guys at Computer Lounge on the Friday afternoon, they promptly did the following:

1. Got the courier company to redirect the hard drive back to them the following week.
2. Got one of their staff to drive out to my work place and drop off another hard drive (same one I ordered) to me that afternoon!

So I can see why others are saying that they are the next best thing.  They will definitely get my return business in future.

It's basically conventional wisdom thesedays to look at pricespy for idea of what the price should be then ignore the first 4 or so cheapest sellers.
