Perfect Hideout

I got this out from the video shop - as it had a picture of Billy Zane in the front (the baddy in Titanic and Dead Calm) - and the blurb at the back of the box made it sound like a good film.

The plot is pretty good but it was somewhat painful to watch with some really bad acting - the directing is pretty bad too.

The attention to detail makes it almost amateurish: The most annoying thing about the film was that it was supposed to be set in Germany - and the special forces team that came to the rescue looked more like SWAT and they all spoke with an American accent. The only person who spoke with a (fake) German accent was Victor (Zane) who did a decent enough acting to make me watch it till the end.

2012 a few weeks a go - 6/10. Awesome effects, get a bit bored with the Just In Time escape - about 6 of them ? Just how lucky can one guy get ? :-)

Naff characters - the usual US of A citizen dragging his kids around trying to reconcile with an estranged wife...

No details of the 2012 prophecy at all ......

BuffyNZ: Zombieland.

Loved it, some great one liners and a good addition to the zombie genre.

Same here, awesome movie!

Also watched Dawn of the Dead on C4 last week and liked that a lot too.

Just watched Scary Movie 4

Lets just say, if you like the scary movie series, with use of humor towards Dr Phil and Michael Jackson then you will like this. It is a 2006 film, not bad for sunday night entertainment

I saw Zombieland last week, absolutely loved it, 9/10. It made me want to play some Left4Dead when I got home.

Over the weekend we watched "The Box" - I loved the old Twilight Zone episode, however the movie was a complete DOG. Also watched Che part 1 and 2 - brilliant.

Watched Public Enemies last night. OK movie, Johnny Depp is always good, but wasn't as good as The Untouchables.

Picture quality was odd, it looked like a making of documentry and detracted from the feel of the movie. Apparently it was shot using HD digital cameras, but I much prefer the picture you get from traditional film. The dialogue was also poor in parts with odd drops in the volume.

The Informant - Interesting for a quiet spot in the day, when bored while away from home on business, and the fact I like Matt Damon. Not the normal Hollywood plot formula - which is always good
Has shades of Matt Damon as "The Talented Mr. Ripley" and Leonardo DiCaprio's "Catch me if you can"

Dawn of the Dead a few days ago - great - I do enjoy a good zombie flick. When the coming zombie apocalypse arrives I'll know how to survive ie
1. Do not turn towards a strange sound then just relax - you will get bit!
2. Always look behind you or - you will get bit!
3. Don't be evil or a bit ugly or - you will get bit!

As long as you are a good looking couple with military training, a hot bod, never sleep, with ugly people around you to get bit. You'll be OK ... So I'm dead!!

"Believe nothing of what you hear and only half of what you see"-Edgar Allan Poe...and my Dad (Words I live by).
"Better to remain silent and be thought a fool, than to open your mouth and remove all doubt"-Many...and my Dad (Words I should live by ;) )
If it ain't broke, fiddle with it ... till its broke! (Words I should really not live by)
