All those stupid pop-ups now on every site inviting you to subscribe to their newsletter, give feedback, or join something whenever you visit the site, however briefly. What idiot decided that was a good idea?

Agree. If site your have visited (by mistake I guess) is mainly for dummies - pop ups should be allowed. If site has serious content - that could be annoying.
Not on every site though.. I intentionally do not have anything but contact form on my site and no adds on my youtube channel videos. With so many hits the adds could bring extra $$ to cover domain names and hosting. But the question is - would people read/watch in the first place if there were those adds?
My audience is mainly techs who would not tolerate stupid adds.
However - I am now working on the series of educational short videos "Batteries For Dummies" - and those are targeting as name suggests real dummies who annoyed me with their hundreds of really "interesting" questions for the last few years.
Would it be fair in your opinion to monetise on real Dummies by allowing Google to add adds to those videos?

Web articles/pages without a date stamp. That really bugs me as I don't know if the information I am reading is current.
People who use rude words and fill them with asterisks. Web sites that force them to. Either keep it clean or f***ing spell it out! Quit trying to have it both ways.

Staying on topic, "adds" does not mean advertisements. That would be "ads".
Americans who automatically answer 110v in the user questions section about supported voltages.
They don't bother to read what is written on the AC adapter, just automatically answer 110v as america is the only country in the world, right.

Typo. But well spotted. I have actually posted that Part 1 of Hybrid Battery For Dummies Video here with no ads:

Inserted 30 titles so that people who can't understand my accent can read.
What is annoying with Google CC (closed captions) is that Google can't understand accents - you may have fun and switch on CC in that 7 minute Video and see how stupid Google is superimposing rubbish captions over my subtitles.
