Liar Liar and Patch Adams will be next.

Some of the scenes in Liar Liar nearly gave me a hernia I laughed so hard. Jim Carey at his comical best.

The outtakes are hilarious as well.

Watched Cruella on Disney+ on Friday night.

Wife and I really enjoyed it.

It wasn't to grown up, but wasn't too child-focused either. Just the right amount of adultness.

Emma Stone was fabulous, in my opinion. And of course Emma Thompson was also her usual great self.

What I really loved though, was the casting of Cruella's two sidekicks. Joel Fry & Paul Walter Hauser (looked them up on IMDB) were so well cast! If you look at classic Disney henchmen, they really are the physical embodiment of those cartoon characters.

My 16 year old referred to it as "Budget Joker" and my 14 year old said it was "just a bunch of sh*t", but what would they know? They're only teenagers.

I'll give it a solid 8/10.

I look forward to 101 Dalmatians when it eventually gets made.

Roadrunner: A Film About Anthony Bourdain (Amazon)

Hard to give a rating to this one. It doesn't feel right to say I enjoyed a movie/documentary about a man that obviously had struggles and in the end took his own life. He was such a polarising character, if you enjoyed his writings and TV shows then you'll appreciate the behind the scenes look. If however you didn't, then give this one a miss.

Black Widow -  4/10

Hated it. Not up to par with other MCU movies

Sort of reminds me about the Robot Chicken sketch about the two most boring Avengers:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2jTnRgTliKs

Started out like a Bourne type movie but descended into the usual big action finale set piece with lots of explosions and unbelieveable stunts.

I found the fake russian accents very off putting - given that they've been sleeper agents in the USA they clearly know how to speak without the giveaway accent.

Funny thing is I'm watching Killing Eve right now and she walks around talking with a russian accent as well (and they nicely minimalise the amount of foreign language with the lead preferring to speak english even in her home country - of course coveniently everyone she meets can also speak english as well as russian, french, spanish, mandarin, mongolian etc...).

Robin Hood (2018) 5/10 Prime Movies. Now here is a movie worth forgetting.

A war-hardened Crusader and his Moorish commander mount an audacious revolt against the corrupt English church and crown.

This is not the story we all know and love of a wronged English nobleman robbed of his inheritance by a corrupt usurper and forced to hide out in the forest and become a bandit. Forming a band of like minded people and robbing the rich and giving to the poor. NOPE.

Lots of violence with beheading and shoot-them-up with arrows, even a machine gun type of multiple arrow mechanism, not much sword play though. Wild chases on horses and carts through flames etc.

The acting was very ho-hum. This movie will suit the hormonal teenager who has no idea of the origins and the history of English 12th century.

Now you can be forgiven that with all these period productions everyone has perfectly dazzling teeth and skin BUT what REALLY got my goat was the costumes. The productions costumier needs to be hung, drawn and quartered on their own looms and sewing machines. I have never seen the likes of this clothing on a 12th century character. The finest cloth of the finest weaving, with the greatest of very very fine patterns, the leather work and the stitching, I would be very proud to own today. Lets not forget the plastic buttons or the greatest selection of fabric dyes. Lets move on to the hair styles. What you can do with shears and a knife to cut ones hair in the 12th century. Give them to me now and I'll go into business for myself, cause I certainly wont need Wahl hair clippers and blow dryers. Evil Sheriff John had the best hair cut to go with the best full length leather coat and woollen jerkin with the finest of stitching, whilst one of the good guys had on a very fine pair thermal Long Johns with front and back buttoned flaps.

Grrrr, these sort of detail mistakes normal don't get me in period productions but this all stood out like a large pair of diseased dogs balls.

Should of given it a 3/10 - oh well

The first King's Man movie was funny and original and interesting if slightly OTT. The second was vile, extremely unfunny bar maybe 2-3 moments, and stupidly OTT for no benefit. I am not sure what to make of the third, but if it's anything like the second, I will be skipping it.

Agree. Very disappointing. The second was way too all American as if "made for". This latest one looks more English so, in theory, should be way better and even equivalent to the first.

Watched Sicario 2: Soldado on the weekend and enjoyed it but didn't think it was quite as good as the first one due to the ending being a little weak but left it wide open to a third part so will be looking forward to that :)

Movies I'm looking forward to till the end of the year. (garnered from IMDb-New Movies) If levels permit ??

The Many Saints of Newark - A look at the formative years of New Jersey gangster, Tony Soprano.

No Time to Die - The next James Bond 007 installment and last for Daniel Craig.

The Last Duel - King Charles VI declares that Knight Jean de Carrouges settle his dispute with his squire by challenging him to a duel.

Dune - A remake of the original 1984. They better not stuff it up, cause I loved the first and have it on DVD.

Eternals - The saga of the Eternals, a race of immortal beings who lived on Earth and shaped its history and civilizations. - from Marvel Comics

West Side Story - One of my favourite musicals of all time - better not stuff it up

The Matrix Resurrections (matrix 4) - this could so easily go pear shape - hope not

The King's Man - see previous above post

I rewatched Argo tonight. Such a fun movie that probably wouldn't get made today.

Sweet Girl (Netflix)

Enjoyable enough action/thriller with a twist, can't say much more without spoilers.  Jason Momoa and Isabela Merced worked well together -  7/10

Aaaahh. I think you people are talking about 'Kingsman'. Or is it another movie?
