schumacher

a waste of time puff piece.

clearly the guys who made this dreck didn't watch the senna or lauda documentaries.

there's nothing new here and one glaring omission,

fans hoping for an update on his accident will be disappointed.

there's barely a mention, only in the last 10 minutes with no footage, photos, not even a word from his doctors.

so why even bother making this ?

1/10

Paper Planes

Australian Movie about a kid in a small rural town in Australia who gets interested in paper planes and ends up competing.

Fairly heartwarming, some sad bits. I watched it with sensitive Master 12 and Miss 9 and both were OK.

I feel it could have really been a smash hit with a few minor adjustments.

7/10 Kids rated it a 9/10

PSA: It's on a special for $2.99 on google movies the next couple of days.

We saw that when it came out (took the kids to see it) and you're right - with a couple of tweaks it could've been a much better received movie, globally.

I really enjoyed it.

Jumanji DVD 9/10

An enduring classic. It's difficult to imagine a better family movie with no swearing and not a hint of sex. Robin Williams is in top form and although the revues of Jumanji 2 with Dwayne Johnson starring were complimentary it's not a patch on the original.

RAMS - Sky - 8/10 Sam Neill and Michael Caton

A decades-long feud between two sheep farming brothers comes to a head when disaster strikes their flocks.

This is in the vein of all those quiet Aussie movies:

Malcolm 1986 - Cossi 1996 - Oyster Farmer 2004 - Getting Square 2003 - Animal Kingdom 2010

that never really hit the northern hemisphere but are just solidly good movies.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

I recently bought an OLED TV and watched Blade Runner 2049 for the first time.

Holy Moses, mind blown, it has to be the most amazing thing I've seen on a TV. The actual movie is excellent too. 10/10

Yes the viewing platform makes all the difference. I too have a new OLED and watched The Fifth Element again but at 2160 for the first time. The detail and richness of the picture was incredible.

Still one of my favourite movies.

I fast forwarded big chunks of it and was still bored to death, but agree the cinematography, particularly on a good TV, is exceptional.

Agree with both of these points. I honestly don't see why people think either Blade Runner movie was so great.

Sacrilege I know.

Prisoners of the Ghostland   Nicolas Cage / Sofia Boutella

Listed as an action, horror, sci-fi flick.  Better description would be weird, nonsensical, and stupid

Just don't.

0/10.

Child 44 DVD 8/10

Atmospheric murder mystery with Tom Hardy looking for a serial child killer in 1953 Russia. Excellent performance from Tom, well worth a watch.
