OK - how many KM's are you putting on your wheels, Mr Mike? I'd imagine you;re getting about a bit more than you think...

But I see where you're coming from 😉

I do confess that since coming out the right side of my covid set back I have been pushing myself to use more bipedal transport around the home. It does result in the odd mess and colourful metaphors. However as the adage by Friedrich Nietzsche says "what does not kill you makes you stronger". He omits the bit about damaging self and property.

That we put up with a very old badly flushing toilet for so long. New suite just installed is called a Tornado 2 is amazing and has vortex flushing. Even the plumber was impressed. Not often everyone stands around admiringly watching a toilet flush.

We recently replaced a toilet and it's easy clean, uses less water and is considerably smaller yet doesn't feel any different. It gave us back a considerable amount of space in a small bathroom. They had models where the cistern was built into the wall and took up even less space, though we didn't want to rip the wall to pieces!

Only problem was the footprint was shorter by a palm width so they had to patch the Lino in front of it with a bit from the back which is now covered over. Eventually will be re floored so easy fixed with a mat for the time being.

Yeah, that is frustrating.

Slimline, back-to-the-wall, soft-close toilets are fantastic, space-saving, very easy to clean, and no loud bang if the lid drops accidentally. If you've still got one of the old-fashioned maze-of-twisty-plumbing models that pick up dust and dirt in every cranny, I'd recommend an upgrade, you'll never look back.

Just avoid the cheapest Chinese models in Bunnings/M10 and get a decent-quality one like the OP did. One quick test for this, which will get you odd looks in a hardware store, is to see how far the glazing extends around the outflow. If you feel rough ceramic in the trap when you reach your hand in, look for a different model. Weight is also an indicator, the cheapies use the thinnest porcelain they can get away with.

Or you could get a Ferguson. Ba-woosh!

Never ever get one of those. They're really great right up until something goes wrong and you need to get access to fix it...

Like the advice about the rough porcelain, but now you tell me? Knew I should have asked here first.

Haha that was a great video neb. Yep I may just have the Stradivarius of toilets. However…I noticed the plumber boy didn’t touch the instructions and now I’m reading them in large caps…Please do not silicone toilet to floor before testing for leaks. Why do I have this niggly feeling that he didn’t. So now will never know until one night on a 4am visit it will crash through the rotten floor.

All this toilet talk and not a bit of innuendo.

Made me giggle as I thought of quite a bit...

Today one of my favorite authors released a new thriller. I wait all year long for it. Now excuse me whilst I read it, ignoring my hungry kids, the smoke alarm that appears to be annoyingly blaring and pretty much everything else.

Discovering the existence of The Wayfarers Chapel.

Get googling...

Looks similar to where I got married in Fiji overlooking a reef with a glass front. Was awesome.

I wanted to get married in Fiji originally, but my wife was worried no family or friends would come.

We fully arranged two weddings to have the venue cancel two separate times. After that we were so sick of it, we did a google search and found this awesome place.

The whole wedding cost $2500 NZD, excluding airfares and accomodation, included photos, and video, and 30 people came across. It was the last time I was ever 'right' :)
