kobiak:

YouTube - is pretty cool with voice search + recommendations.

I enjoy the recommendations, the TV in my bedroom has no channels, only the apps that were embedded in the TV. The youtube recommendations are great, I get constant obscure F1 videos, mountainbike news, etc. About the only one to look out for is watching the odd music video where there are scantily dressed folk, it will then suggest other scantily dressed singer's videos!

I agree regarding the recommendations. I have seen things I might never have found before otherwise.

If you are not using YouTube red you are getting a free service. There is a cost so advertising and recommendations are part of paying for that cost.

I am happy to move on. This is a thread for small annoyances and I mentioned one of mine was Android. Everything else was a reaction to that.

When a tradie says he'll do something, doesn't do it and then trying to get hold of him and him not returning your calls.

(Come and fix my leaking toby already, dammit.  There's water p*ssing all over the neighbour's drive...or tell me you can't do it and I'll try and find someone else.)

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?

Not to create a flame war but a few items that have annoyed me recently

1. cyclists who cycle on the road when there is a very expensive cycle path that we (Wellington) ratepayers have paid for (Old Hutt Road, Thorndon Quay). I was in a bus recently and the driver almost hit a cyclist on the road and then got into a verbal argument

2. People who insist on taking videos on their phones in portrait mode. I think TV networks should refuse to buy/borrow any news videos taken by people who orient their cameras that way. I find it so annoying to see videos on TV recorded that way. I think it's even worse when people post videos on YT that way hoping to get hits!

3. People in enclosed places (like a crowded bus) who insist on wearing their back packs, swiveling their bodies and inadvertently hitting other passengers.  Take them off when you get into a crowded bus

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

I was in downtown Auckland on Sunday and saw cyclists riding on the footpath along Customs Street when there's a perfectly good cycle path right there.

Travling home the other day and there was a cyclist that was riding on the road but then switched to the footpath when he reached traffic lights so he could avoid having to wait for the lights.

AirNZ plays the same song in the cabin every single time as you board/exit.  Seemingly no shuffle function on the audio player.  I used to like that song.  Now hate it.  I wonder how the cabin-crew find hearing the same music over and over?

Shoe laces - I need a new set of shoe laces.

130cm. - or 54"

No place that I have tried has 130cm or 150cm. All I find is 120cm, or 180cm hiking / football laces.

Even the shop that I originally purchased the shoes from dont have replacement length laces.

Why the heck is there 24" difference between standard sizes ?

It's 2 feet ..

.. ba-dum...tish
