This is more than just controlling availability of guns to the general public.

This is about white police killing black lives.

It seems to be about people killing people. I have been following reports on CNN and elsewhere off and on today and this is by no means over. There are ongoing demonstrations in different cities and reports of at least two or three individuals, maybe more, who have opened fire on police in different places and contexts. This is a very serious and very dangerous situation and it appears to be spreading. There are also reports of people coming together and police and demonstrators protecting each other so it is not all one-sided, but it still looks pretty scary.

The officer in one of the latest shootings wasn't 'white' he was Hispanic. Just to fit the media narrative there is now a group of people in the US referred to as 'White Hispanics'.

It has descended into anarchy now, but it started off because of black lives lost, the root cause being perceived or actual racial discrimination.

The shooter served in Afghanistan, I wonder if PTSD has a bearing on this incident.

The metric to focus on is there is too much firearm/violence related crime and 100% too many firearm/violence related deaths.
