If I were Dotcom I would forget about making a circus of it and start taking this serious.

One recent one I read of was a man in the UK who had an order imposed on him that he was to give police 24 hours notice of his intention to have sex.

Quashed last week, I believe, as being entirely unreasonable and unworkable.

Additionally in this case, it's not KDC that has to follow it - it's the world at large recording the live stream and sticking it up all over the internet and ignoring some judge in NZ jumping up and down and saying "stop that - I said you could not do it! Stop it I say!"

Now I get it - it's a setup. They're hoping they will be able to have another go at KDC - get him back into Court for failing to adhere to a Court direction when he fails to get the video record completely eradicated from the internet when the hearing is over.

And it worked! As within 24 hours Filesonic and Fileserve (the two most popular file lockers at the time) stopped file sharing, and within a month they closed their servers and ceased to exist. Many of the other main file lockers like Hotfile, Rapidshare etc closed not long after.

A huge amount of pirated files were deleted from the Internet as a result.

Sorry, it's your who's making a fool of yourself. No judge will hold someone in contempt of court for something they can't control. Just because someone might download the streams from KDC and then make subsequent use of it without the court being able to do something about that, it does not follow that the judge's orders are irrelevant/impossible to follow. The judge may be concerned about KDC hosting the videos on a website/medium clearly controlled by him and giving misleading clips of the hearing or whatever else. The point is that KDC cannot himself make direct use of the videos.

What? He is guilty as sin. His MU site offers legit uploading facilities, but how many are going to pay to see my cat videos, selfies, home reno videos? Its all about piracy.

I do agree that the efforts by the US and NZ are stupid. Choppers etc, really stupid, but thats another thread. Guilty as sin.
