2003? I think I can just about remember 2003....!

Good job. I probably "know" more people here than I do IRL. I also learn a lot about tech stuff, not being truly geeky in the network engineer/IT/mobile network sort of way that many here are. One of my key learning experiences is the For Sale thread, where I see a post that says "For Sale: Uber Tech Widget Carbon 9777884444 techno-whizz (note - A shape not G shape)" or some such and then have to run and look up what is actually being sold, because I never heard of one...!

It's a great place to find answers to all manner of things; a sort of living Wiki mastermind Borg Collective.

Like these from today?

Pyranometer with modbus connection

Delidding service in NZ?

Delid?? come on! No idea what it was about! :-)

Yes! Exactly so.

Was thinking I may be the only one to google what is actually being sold because I never heard of one ;-)

I have also learned a lot about tech stuff including some that later proved useful to me by looking up things for sale that I didn't recognise.

I joined in October 2006 and just checked my first post, which was in the Xtra rated worst ISP in user survey thread, where i was having a bit of a whinge. They obviously can't have been too bad, because I'm still a Spark customer smile

I've found so much good advice here over the years and hopefully have been able to provide some of my own. Congratulations on providing such a great resource and here's to the next 15 years.

Congrats GZ!!!

I'm a mere 8'yrs (nearly 9 :P) years into my GZ life and have to say it is a truly amazing resource. This forum still rates as the best moderated and overall quality forum of all I have ever been involved with.

It has been an expensive journey though, for me it originated with Technofreak's compelling Samsung S2 videos as it became a must have device followed by many other devices inspired from feedback and discussions generated on this board! on the other hand there have been many discussions which have lead to cost savings and deals IRL so goes both ways!

A special thanks must also go out to the huge number of professionals who impart their professional wisdom and knowledge from the goodness of humanity, in a lot of cases representing companies and doing more for customer relations than the company's own PR teams, this all creates the perfect tech fusion that is GZ

Congrads also , just noticed this year is my 10th year of my geekzone sentence lol

I have learnt so much from the forums and fellow geekzone users over the years , and technology has changed so much over my time here.

I found my first post , here is part of it .

my current line speed is 4.09 Mb/s  and my average is  3.4 Mb/s

upload is only       0.14 Mb/s

Fibre now , stream everything ,hate watching free to air tv (adverts)

Echo, and a dot a couple of Lifx bulbs .

And none of my IT knowledge would of happened without geekzone , so thank you all

Happy Birthday Geekzone.

Always a source of knowledge and help. It feels good to occasionally be able to give some advice back as well.

I think this is why it works so well.

Congrats - great milestone to reach. I lurked for a while before joining (as many seem to do) so officially am coming up on 11 years. I first found this site while troubleshooting a laptop which I was sure had picked up some malware. Unfortunately for many I decided to remain :-)

Met some great people IRL through this site. Here's to another 15 years plus!!

Think I'd been lurking around before then though. Few years later, got a mysterious message from MF asking me to contact him....... was curious as to why, thought "oh crap, what have I said hes taken offense to" :D Instead, he was offering me "the hammer" to sort out those being offensive ;) Only gave it up due to a new job taking up my time etc.

Site is still fun and informative as it was back in 2008, and cant see that changing any time soon until Facebook offer to buy the forums ;)

Fifteen years on the Dead Man's Chest,
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!

Fifteen years of a whole ship's list,
Yo-ho-ho and a bottle of rum!

Fifteen years of 'em stiff and stark
Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

Fifteen years of 'em good and true
Yo ho ho and a bottle of rum!

Fifteen years of Geekzone forums and posts ... I'll drink to that, we salute you!

Congratulations! I've been here for over 1 year now. Happy to be part of this community. Geek fact: the 1111 candles on top of the anniversary badge is the binary number for the decimal 15.

Day late, Bugger! Congrats team! Doing a good job.
I almost have the most replied thread on geekzone too! In exactly 30 replies it will be the most discussed topic here.
