Update: The sunnies arrived and they are brilliant!
Specsavers, on the other hand...it seems I am an annoyance for having the audacity to call them for an update, despite them being an urgent order.

I thought the point of sunglasses was to reduce the brilliance? ;-)
I'll see (ha, double pun) myself out.

The replacement morning-cup-of-tea deck chair arrived today, before the Christmas/New Year pause:
The previous one was over ten years old and the plastic was brittle and breaking up, one side was being held up by a stack of bricks and a wooden wedge.

Bloody millennials!
Bought a Wagner spray paint unit from M10, it was $1 cheaper at Bunnings so I got a 15% discount, saved over $80...😁

Could you not have taken that to Bunnings and got a further 15% off?
How? The listed price at mitre10 is $1 more than that at Bunnings.
I've been in a similar situation. Just stated that I'll go around the corner and buy it from Bunnings and the person at Mitre 10 chose to offer me the 15% discount rather than lose a sale.

OMG monoblock? I rebuilt this one (they used to stand around in public parks in the city in the summer years ago, until antisocial, drunken vandals gradually beat them up into firewood for their barbecues in the night, despite their wooden robustness and solidity). It‘s called „Hummelstuhl“.

It was something like $15 at the Warehouse which is a tiny fraction of what just the raw materials by themselves would cost, and given that it gets covered in dirt and insect pulp from spiders easy washability was also a desirable feature.

Yes, good arguments. The one I showed costs around €1200/piece for private individuals, which I wouldn't be prepared to pay either, so I (re)built it myself. When I think of the price that the city council spent on 250 of them and how brainless people thanked them, I have to switch to the annoyance thread.

Yes, or Adirondack chair. There are many names, but this one is produced locally and actually protected by copyrights due to certain features (I don't know which ones).
