harryTran1409: Just ordered an Alienware from Dell USA. Finger crossed ! Hope that it gets to NZ in one piece :(

Well your going to have to pay a fair amount of import tax on that, I would of gone with a custom build from XoticPC they have some pretty decent prices for prebuilt with large customization. Not sure on the price you spent just be aware.

"The item you are sending in valued over NZD$1,500. No compensation cover is provided for items over NZD$1,500."

colinuu: Early in this thread it was mentioned that ink cartridges are on the prohibited list. I can't see that in the information currently available at NZ Post. Am I missing something, or have they been taken off the list?

In case others are interested - my ink cartridges were delivered today, no questions asked. Just on two weeks from placing order to delivery, with the YouShop freight charge a fraction of what was quoted by the Amazon Seller store.

This is a good service, I will use it again.

Hey team,

I am looking at shipping a Yamaha receiver over from the US. The price of Yamaha receivers is really over the top. The RX-A2020 is $3000 in NZ and on eBay I can purchase this for $1200 USD free freight in the US.

I have been scrolling through pages and pages on this thread but haven't seen anybody ship goods of this size and weight before. Goods are 58CM x 55CM x 30CM and 18KG.

So, shipping cost through YouPost is about $200 NZD and GST is about $300 NZD.

I also see that there is a fee to YouPost to pay the GST amount on your behalf of $150 NZD? Can I just pay the GST directly to NZ Customs?

And I also read on the YouPost site "Parcels worth more than NZD$1,000 will require a Client CodeOpens in a new window. and a Supplier CodeOpens in a new window. , both of which are issued by Customs. See the Customs websiteOpens in a new window. for details." what the hell does this mean?

Some feedback would be appreciated, and do you think this receiver would make it back in 1 piece?

Be careful as this may be the 110V Only Unit.. (ie not dual Voltage)

Also yamaha's that a friend looked at had some weird power supply arrangement, not just a couple of transfromers like most amps, so it was not a simple matter of changing the input windings for transformers around.

Tuner will also be US only, not that anyone really cares about radio much. I havent heard of the 50Hz modes being locked out on amps like they do on the TV's sold in the US, but its something to watch out for.

Remember you need to add GST onto the shipping cost too

by the way guys (and girls)

None of the previous discount codes are avid anymore.

I just purchased a NAS and discovered the latest code for 15% off!

It is: youshopbf11

I have no idea how long it is valid for but just a heads up!

Another two parcels arrived in the country today after leaving on Wednesday last week. Loving the combined shipping discount as it has turned out to be significantly cheaper for me to send parcels to the USA and then on send here than ship direct.

Does Amazon link to YouShop or something? (joke)

I went to order an item from Amazon and got "we can't ship this to your address". So I created a YouShop account, activated it, went back to Amazon, and suddenly Amazon *can* ship directly to my NZ address. Go figure.

That's because the Youshop address is a US address..

No, I mean I didn't even put in the YouShop address; I just went back to the Amazon product page and the "we won't ship to your location" tag was gone.

If you had no address in it before hand then it would detect New Zealand via ip?
