Hell no. Don't you dare compare Carry On to the holy grail of Christmas/Action movies.

Also the plot holes - I don't work in an airport and don't know my way around an airplane but even I'm thinking that's not right.

I'm sure Die Hard 2 is a paragon of accurately representing airport operations 😂

Or even Die Hard: "That's ok, I'm a cop" (after another passenger sees his gun when leaving the plane).

Terrifier 2 - 6/10 - More of the same really, based a year later off the back of the intro in the first movie. Except the ending.... a bit "W.T.F" story wise but hey, its a slasher/gorefest so can't have everything :D

the Die Hard franchise way way better

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

Just watched “A Real Pain” and what an absolute masterpiece of film making. The acting is phenomenal and im glad Kieran Culkin got the golden globe for his work he is so good.

I happened to catch a stream showing The Crimes of Grindelwald just as it was beginning. Since I had never seen it before, I hung around to see where it would go. About halfway through I gave up and turned to a nature documentary.

I was equally unexcited by Fantastic Beasts when it first appeared. Even at my advanced years, I was a big fan of the Harry Potter films and had hoped to rekindle some of the magic with these spinoffs but it just wasn't there for me. I don't know why exactly. The visual tricks and amazing animals were excellent but the rest left me unmoved. The only character I found even a little bit interesting was Jacob Kowalski. Is this where magic goes to die?

Carry On - watched this last week on Netflix. Thoroughly enjoyable for what it was.

Also watched Bad Tidings starring Lee Mack and Chris McCausland. Funny and entertaining if you like British humour.

Other movies we've watched and weren't horrified by:

Reunion (Netflix) - about...well...a Reunion (it's a murder mystery movie)

Canary Black - Spy caper on Prime Video starring Kate Beckinsale

Godzilla X Kong: The New Empire - Neon

According to this Reddit, the book it was based on was written in 1979, which was before the US restricted guns on planes- so maybe they just left it in
https://www.reddit.com/r/AskHistorians/comments/16ufsf2/in_die_hard_john_mcclane_carries_his_gun_on_a/?rdt=46925

but even in the '80s the level of restrictions was much lower and as a US cop he could have likely swung it..

"A complete unknown".

Imagine a team of Olympic swimmers in a 30cm deep kiddie pool, trying to show just how good they actually are.

Whilst I don't get the analogy, my wife and son went to see this last night and really enjoyed it.
By all accounts, they said Timothy Shamolambolam was very good as Bob Dylan.

That's to say - it's got a spectacular cast that is constrained by an embarrassingly shallow script with way too many singalongs.

First thing that came to mind when the recent plane accident happened in Washington DC.

Oh dear - what a terribly wasted opportunity.

Captain America - Brace New World

Well, that’s a couple of hours of my life I won’t get back. Could have read something useful instead.

Bridget Jones 4. Thoroughly enjoyed it despite the fact I haven’t seen the other 3 films. Cried like 5 times.
