Don't care about chest-puffing numbers. Don't need a big car and don't need a lightspeed drive. As stated, they both work fine for my purposes.

Rikkitic:SATA cables. I can't believe the amount of grief these stupid things have caused me. Nearly burned my house down, months of chasing phantoms due to intermittent connection problems, unreliable, flimsy, crappy - give me good solid old-fashioned IDE any day. Why fix it if it ain't broke?
It was the power cable. Already burning and melted when I discovered it so hard to trace the exact course of events but it looks like it overheated for some reason, the insulation broke down, and a complete short resulted. Not entirely surprising considering how flimsy the cable was to start with. But at the time it happened, the device (DVD player) was not operating so load would have been minimal. Possible the drive was the culprit but I don't think so.

What was the source of the cable? was it a good brand or a Aliexpress or similar sourced cable
Here is a crazy notion, lets give peace a chance.
Getting furniture delivered and the delivery company won't specify an exact time, just a day.
But they expect to have access to the building's loading zone, which I have to have specify a time to book (1 loading zone and 1 service lift for >300 apartments).
Seemingly the delivery company are also under the impression that I'm just kicking back at home all day waiting for them to turn up (or not).

I'm not certain any longer. I think it came with the computer. I see stuff all the time, especially electrical, that is unsafe and should never be allowed into the country. Yet somehow it always is.

richms: What annoys me is devices that come with an old molex plug for power when I have none on my modular power supply without buying adapters or more cables.
My PSUs all have both. I have a lot of PSUs for some reason.

Macrons gone crazy.
"For more information, go to Whakatānekimua.nz" yet attempting to do so returns an error. It's fine without the macron, and I suspect that this is a case of someone doing a global find and replace without actually checking things.
Edit: After continuing through this booklet, that is indeed what has happened. Every single URL or email address containing the word "whakatane" has been changed to "Whakatāne" and the vast majority (all?) of them don't work. Muppets.

The "bird" finger on my right hand. I put a little tiny nick in it late last week while cutting chicken. After medical attention, my finger is gradually returning from looking like an overdone saveloy, currently looking like a hutton's sizzler. 3 hours in the 24 hour clinic - after a 4 hour trip unscheduled home on the boat. What a beautiful day.
Argh. Phone security. My father's iPhone is signed out of it's Apple ID. He can't remember the password. I had set up two factor, but used my own phone number (on Android) as the two factor number. When I attempt to reset it, I suspect it tries to send an Apple message to my phone instead of his.
