Markup.

I was looking for a writing app on my Mac and thought Ulysses looked interesting. Having spent 30 minutes looking at it, I now have a headache because it expects me to learn a whole new language called 'Markup XL' which looks like Double Dutch to me and makes not the slightest sense. App deleted. English has punctuation in it already - it hardly needs special words or characters to include it in text when the characters are already on the keybard. I suppose they had a reason, but whatever it was, it does not align with my needs!

Email: "Check out what our customers are saying! [blah blah, our product is great]"

I'm already your customer so why are you spamming me with advertising?!

My glasses fog up. Every time I put them on. Rain or shine, hot or cold, other glasses, nothing makes any difference. Sometime they even fog when I have been wearing them for hours. It drives me crazy.

Toilet paper dispensers in public toilets. You always end up having to reach inside and carefully manipulate the paper to get it out. An absolutely rubbish design that is entirely fit for purpose - they must save councils and restaurants hundreds of dollars per year.

Just hope you're never in a clean-up situation where you really need paper.

And you should be able to push the door to get out. I don't want to have to put my hands on the grubby door handle when it seems like the majority of public toilet users don't wash their hands...

Ah yes. Many a time I've had to reach across the room whilst holding the door open with my foot, so I can dispose of the paper used to avoid touching the grubby handle.

Trying to turn onto the main road at an intersection in light traffic which has synchronised to prevent you from going.

By this I mean the traffic is timed perfectly such that once a car from the left has cleared, a car comes from the right.

I was waiting 3 minutes the other day (well it felt like that anyway)  because of this.  Very rare though for it to be timed so consistently.

But think of the health and safety, who knows whats on the other side of that door, think of the consequences of send a small child flying head first into the nearest urinal after executing a triple salchow. Obviously (toughened) glass doors would be required...

Or no doors, just a torturous path ala Auckland / Wellington Airport?

Websites that demand a "first name" and "last name" instead of just having a single "name" field. A company doesn't have first and last names!

That one Vodafone csr that has a really noisy keyboard and seems to like hitting it really hard. Then there’s another one that has a noise that I can only describe as a ping like someone hitting a crt with a piece of metal. Maybe a necklace hitting the phone mic? Combine that with their very sensitive microphones on their headsets and me struggling to hear their mutterings as they enter details on tickets ...
