If its only $60 at the shop I wouldnt risk it with youshop and getting a copier paper sized box full of bags of air, since the freight on that is almost near $60.

Got my UK address over the weekend and a 30% coupon for postage valid until the end of the month
Sadly the one item I wanted the UK address for has sold out.

jtbthatsme: Has anyone used Youshop for bringing in clothing items??? I....

I bought a pair of Levi's 501s of Amazon, was about US$45, so NZ$60odd.  In Amazon fashion it was a pretty big box so the volumetric weight came to over 2kgs, I paid NZ$30 (after using the discount code) to Youshop to get it here.
$30 for freight was pretty pricey I thought, but $90 total is still cheaper than what you can by them for in little old NZ.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

Oh yeah I do buy a lot overseas but never from Amazon and never used a service like Youshop even though I have to admit I probably read about 30 of these pages when it first came out lol.

All the places I buy from overseas generally include postage or it's like $1 (actually one pound but not sure how to get pound symbol on this keyboard).

Thanks for all the input. I did try finding others but ended up going for a wander down and bought one for $55 from Levin Main Road.

How did you get a UK Youshop address?  I just checked the nzpost website and it still says 'UK comming soon'.

How was VAT handled, if at all? 20% domestic tax vs 15% in NZ....

jtbthatsme, remember that there is an extra tax for clothing coming into NZ so the threshold is a little lower than it is usually is with GST for other items.

Has anyone had any experience with the repacking service when something is coming from Amazon? Would be looking at getting a Chromebook but wouldn't really wanna pay double the price for shipping thanks to a massive box

That will be interesting as YouShop UK will be a domestic shipment  liable for sales tax where as the US is a tax free state..

I wish there was an option to pay for customs duty in advance. It takes about as long to go through customs as it does to get to NZ.

I noticed something I thought was interesting today though, an NZ Post YouShop address is the same as a Reship.com address, both are 13820 NE Airport Way, Portland, OR. The only difference is the suite numbers.

Reship do package consolidation for US$7 (up to 5 packages, then $1 for each package over that). But comparing a few sizes / weights, YouShop is a little cheaper on actual postage.

Apologies if anyone else noticed this and pointed out earlier in the topic, I couldn't read all the pages :P
