Drivers of vehicles and motorcyclists who think it is ok to speed through the forecourt of service stations that are situated at intersections with traffic lights, so as that they can avoid waiting at the lights. Some of these drivers and riders speed through without slowing down much either.

If you can't laugh at yourself then you probably shouldn't laugh at others.

Some non mobile sites also do this. Met Service is a good one for it as it loads, then after a pause, loads the weather warnings banner moving the map down just as you click on a location.

$28 postage to get a phone from Adelaide to Melbourne, and they took 6 days to do it. If you think NZ Post is bad then you clearly haven't used Australia Post!

Tradesmen who can't grasp that keeping their customers informed is simple courtesy.

Had an appointment at 0800 to discuss a job with a $50k price tag.

No one here at 0815 so I rang. Oh yes, just looking at another job nearby. Should be up in an hour.

That's it for them. They've lost the work and probably won't even care.

When an item (small filter, size of a coke can) can go from Perth on Wed afternoon, to Auckland by Friday morning and then not move a mm towards Wellington since :(

Happens all the time. I had a camera take 8 days to travel from Auckland to Martinborough. The lazy so and so's don't seem to work at weekends, so stuff just sits there in a depot doing nothing when it could be getting closer to the destination.

The absolutely stupidly crazy mental long queues when entering Australia in Melbourne, Gold Coast, or Brisbane. 2 Hours from the time I exited the plane till out on the footpath.

2 Scanners operating for 4 planes that arrived at the same time, in 30c temperatures with two young kids.

Seriously has me reconsidering holidaying in Australia.

Comparatively, I have never taken more than 15 minutes to clear customs in Singapore and tonight getting back to Auckland, 28 minutes from Plane off to footpath with much higher than usual queues.

So many cyclists riding around in the Wellington CBD at 06:45 with no lights.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

One of the guys at work had to call HP support today. First you need to sit through some waffle about the privacy policy, then you get one chance to say what you're calling about. If the voice recognition doesn't understand you, then it hangs up on you.

My favourite peculiarity of Australian air travel is the 'illogical bag scan':

1) Board flight in NZ. Bags security checked before boarding.

2) Arrive to transit in Australia

3) Despite being airside since last security check and airborne to boot, and remaining airside in Australia...

4) Queue to have your bag scanned again...

Similarly:

What is it that seems to compel people to "utilise" any nearby skip bin that someone has hired for their own purposes? Have seen people pull up to a privately hired skip bin, empty a collection of things (up to and including mattresses) out of their car into it, then drive off (unfortunately didn't catch the plate).
I'm likely to be hiring a clean fill skip in the near future so I'm "looking forward" to finding all manner of domestic rubbish added to it when I'm not looking. :-/
