Buffet has more meanings than a side table of food. Would you say you were being boofayed by the wind?

Realize has been in English useage since 16 something. An American slant on meaning has been in common use since19th cent. Z is OED prefferred form.

I've never owned a car or bike with ABS yet, driven one or two that have it. ABS on gravel is horrible and being a one of those people who likes to actually drive the car I would probably turn it off if my next car had it.

For reference cars I've had are :

Vauxhall Corsa (1994)
Lotus Elise (1996)
Isuzu Mu (1996)
Nissan Mistrel (1995)

Next car will be a Toyota GT 86, which has lots of computer bits, but you can turn them off so that'll be their default settings for me :-)

i doubt you are allowed to simply 'turn off' abs on your toyota gt 86 :D

you could remove the fuse though

Can you actually turn off ABS on it? Isn't ABS mandatory on new cars? Being able to easily turn it on and off seems to defeat that?

you can turn off traction control and ESP but not ABS - the only way is to unplug the fuse

(eg if you're stuck in the mud traction control will guarantee you won't get out)

but people use it to show off and then end up on failblog

You can't get a WOF if the ABS system is not functional.
