Geektastic: Why, then, must I pay a doctor to issue a repeat prescription every 3 months?!

Most dr reception has a form for repeat prescription. Usually a couple of questions and your signature. Doctor reviews it when not busy. Cost is lower. I believe reception can also fax it to a pharamcist. The general idea is Dr's don't want to prescribe for a condition that has changed or may require different treatment, so at their discretion.

I envisage a day when supermarkets won't let you buy a trolley full of stuff, so that you have to come back the next day. This will be a service to customers who otherwise might not have come back if they forgot something.

Don't be daft. Your comparison lacks even a modicum of comparability.

Ultimately Kiwis are terrible about seeing their GP, it's why so many of us die from curable diseases that would have been much more sorted having been attended to earlier.

Healthier people live/work longer, have happier lives.

My wife leaves cupboard doors open all the time and it drives me nuts. She doesn't even realise she's doing it. Probably happens 5 times a day.

While we're whinging about family members:

* My wife (for some reason known only to her) will put the lid back on a jar but not do it up.

* How incredibly messy my boys are. I've seen monkeys eat more neatly than my eight-year-old.

* Surfaces sticky from the boys' messy hands, whether it be chocolate ice cream on the door handle, porridge all over the bench, or pee on the bathroom floor. I have to agree with my wife - boys are gross.

There are 4 ways to reply to someone's post here and there and everywhere on forums:

Type #1 (old fashion style) -> type "in reply to Sam, saying, quote: "bla.." end of quote, then your message;

Type #2 -> press "quote" button, look at the part of that quote, change irrelevant to "...", leave only the part you wish to comment -> by doing so you are not occupying the whole screen with the previous message (which everybody have already went through anyway) and leave more space for more comments on one page without the need for scrolling down or going to the "next" page;

Type #3 - press "quote button" and live the whole trail in it. Many times the comment to follow is irrelevant to the 99% of the quoted material - perhaps helping the next person, which is
Type #4 - to do exactly the same as Type #3 and snowball it into bigger quoted material;

Types #3 & #4 are those little things which are little bit annoying.

Disclaimer: you can quote the above as many times as you wish and in full - I will not be annoyed this time....
