SirHumphreyAppleby:

When were they sent? They will be marked as complete automatically if you don't mark them as received or open a dispute.

That's the strange thing, the purchase protection is still running and the order itself is still open, and I can confirm receipt still. It's only the tracking details that have changed to completed. That includes items sent 2 months ago as well as 3 weeks ago, all were showing as a mix of awaiting airline, arrived in destination country or with last mile carrier. Some still have 50+ days of purchase protection as they were extended.

The ones that purchase protection expired on earlier in the week, I was able to open a dispute on and they were refunded as the seller wouldn't respond to a request to extend the protection.

I made 10-12 orders in late Feb. Most arrived reasonably quickly, near the start or during Level 4.

Have two outstanding, one of which has been marked as Finished despite not receiving the package. Apparently left China on 29/02.

I've got a bunch of stuff that appears to be stuck with Hongkong Post since approx 8 April. HKP aren't doing airmail to NZ at the moment so I imagine it's all piled up in a warehouse waiting for mail flights to resume.

Ive got one that was sent on the 12th of March. They have increased the delivery time 3 times since then.  It supposedly got shipped by air over a month ago then nothing as far as tracking is concerned.  Two other orders done more recently (as in end of last month, earlier this month) have both arrived at the transit country or district, whatever thats supposed to mean.

In saying that another 2 orders I did at the beginning of April turned up in under 2 weeks.  Of course the first order is the one I really wanted!!

Something weird is going on for sure! I have a few parcels now that have no tracking since leaving China. Is NZPost filling up a warehouse with overseas freight or something !!??

Departed country of origin:

09/04/20

25/04/20

11/04/20

Maybe with raising unemployment NZPost could hire some temp staff. This Labour government should be addressing the short falls of NZPost.

I really feel like this is a case of give them an inch and they'll take a mile. NZ Post have been slashing services for years. Fastpost has gone, delivery times have increased.

Many Geekzone users are in Wellington, and may not have noticed this to the same extent. In Auckland, my elderly grandmother used to be able to walk 20m to a post box. For the last few years of her life, the nearest post box was over 1km away and she physically wasn't able to keep that connection with the outside world. I now have to walk 1.1km, where previously I had to walk 500m. I don't mind the walk, but where I used to be able to just drop mail in a box somewhere on my travels, I'm now forced to plan a route specifically to post mail.

When mail delivery went down to three days a week, international packages were still being delivered daily. That's no longer the case. They are delivered only on regular mail days. According to their Website when I last checked, packages were meant to be delivered in three days irrespective of the origin. I had international arrivals sitting with NZ Post for over a week, and when I queried this, they told me they were delivered on a five day cycle (already exceeded), and if I wanted my mail quicker I should use express services which will be processed faster. So much for their three day claim.

Early on in covid-19 (before it had spread outside China), it was stated that all parcels from China would be quarantined for 2 weeks. Maybe NZPost is still doing that?

I think they're doing recent stuff as quickly as possible, and only addressing the backlog when there's spare capacity.

Mail flow was interrupted February 10 - 26. There is no quarantine of packages as this is unnecessary.

I find when my parcels 'stop tracking' when they leave china is due to them being addressed to a reshipper. When they do finally arrive they have a new label on them from an address in Auckland.

I've got something shipped on 18/05 from China. Arrived in NZ on 22/05. And delivered yesterday on 27/05.

Before lock down it would have been delivered 3-4 days earlier.
