My recent Aliexpress purchase took longer to get from Auckland to Wellington, than it did China to Auckland. I will put this down to it being a small item, and NZ Post deciding that it needed new tracking details.

My supplier tracking details LE*CN, China Post registered airmail (tracked) stopped once it cleared the border. It was replaced with CO*NZ, which the NZ Post shows as an untracked postal item, so I have no idea when it got labeled etc.

Just had something go from "Picked up" in Shenzhen to "In transit to local depot (Auckland Airport)" in four days. Now I expect it'll take two weeks to travel from the airport to here...

Just had an Amazon order arrive today. Ordered from the US on July 13th, so that's a one week delivery time.

So it arrived yesterday. Damn impressive, a week from pickup to delivery here, even pre-Covid things would typically take 30 days to get here.

On a semi-related note, I've found the person who buys from Wish. Was having dinner with friends last night and one of them casually mentioned buying something from Wish. Always wanted to know who their customer was.

Journeyman:

"Seller's shipping method", unclear what it was but they were 26650 batteries so I assume they used some better class of shipping for that, it wasn't the usual free shipping.

Just got last my pre COVID order delivered that I ordered back in January 2020 (!!).

It took only a week to get to New Zealand from China, but that was back on 19 February. I wonder where it has been in the meantime?

  • 2020.02.19 11:02 (GMT-7): Accepted by Last Mile Carrier
  • 2020.02.14 15:04 (GMT-7): Departed country of origin
  • 2020.02.12 15:46 (GMT-7): Shipment accepted by airline

  • 2020.02.12 05:28 (GMT-7): Shipment left country of origin warehouse
  • 2020.02.11 09:41 (GMT-7): Shipment at country of origin warehouse
  • 2020.02.11 09:26 (GMT-7): Shipment dispatched

More recently, delivery etc costs have gone up. There are still lots of good deals to be had and mail costs vary enormously.

See this seller for instance where for many things the cheap postal deal is less than 50c. I may be in for a wait however...

I just had movement after two months of an item in a transit country, unfortunately the tracking doesn't say where it is. Three days to get from the sender to the transit country, then 26 May to 27 July sitting in the transit country and today it moved again.

Maybe the transit country is Zambia.

All of my UBI ones (Aliexpress standard shipping) have been sitting at the same status for over a month now case opening date is in 9 days.

I had a similar thing with a couple packages arrived with the rubber band and many from Zambia (Dont even try to use their website)

Friend just had all of his turn up all at once, Some with different departure dates.

UBI ones used to take at most 3 weeks to arrive door to door now its coming on 6 ish weeks which is disappointing as i was willing to pay the little bit extra for a more reliable service, Of which they boast a "96% Delivery Performance (Average Transit time 5-8 business days)"

My new long-term record is now 6 months! Some usb adapters I ordered on January 19 turned up late July! So long that I'd given up on them and ordered more, received and used and forgotten about the January orders...
