Did The OA have a resolution? Something satisfying, even if there is a hook to a next season? I am asking because I am tired of watching TV series that start, get twists and turns, and the season ends with no resolution in sight. Not satisfying. Stranger Things was good - even though there's all ready for a next season, it was a good closure at Season 1.

Erm... ahhh, um.
Yes and no?
Is there supposed to be another season? Seemed like the end to me.

We just finished watching season 1 of The Bridge (original Danish version) after seeing it recommended here. Such a great show, that one!

We also tried watching the US remake, but turned it off after 15 minutes. The acting seemed pretty woeful, and the subtleties of Saga's character in her US counterpart seemed to be instead telegraphed to the audience, just in case we missed them.

Thankfully we still have 2 more seasons of the Danish version to get through.

Anyone else here watching Designated Survivor? Love it. Especially the hook for this winter finale... -___-

We watched it, and found it all a bit MEH to be honest. The characters were one dimensional, the dialogue was awful, and the storyline just didn't really grab us. Not sure we'll return for the next season.

The bar has been raised with so much quality TV around these days, that this kind of safe & shallow network TV drama no longer interests us. It was also grating to see Kiefer playing such a weak character when we're used to seeing him in in a far more strong and decisive mode (of which there were only occasional glimpses here).

We liked the Designated Survivor but some of the stuff were predictable - "Look, this is gonna happen to her" and bam... It happens.

Also, this kind of "Movie broke into episodes" is something that has to end at some point. It can't be going on forever, no conclusion. Sure, Monster of the Week style is not great but an arc has to end somewhere...

Tried Dirk Gently but as clever as it is, a bit annoying. So skipped it.

I have not skipped it yet but after 2 episodes I am wondering when an FBI agent will start commenting on how good the pie is and when random shots of a dancing dwarf will appear...!

My daughter says it's one of those shows that gets better and better. I watched the first one......it was OK, but I had other things to do.

I've been watching "Travellers" on Netflix. I'm up to E04.

The premise is interesting. People can't physically time travel, but they can take over a person in a location at a known time. Typically, they choose someone who is about to die when the time of death is known. Some interesting wrinkles arise when they find they didn't know everything there was to know about the person concerned....or the historical information was simply wrong.

Why are they coming back? To stop humanity destroying itself and turning the planet into a wasteland.

I do wonder at what point they change things enough that the future they came from never happens......but I haven't got that far yet. So far, so good. I'll watch it some more.

Probably already been mentioned earlier in this thread but just found S2 of Line of Duty on Netflix. Brilliant.

I started watching it on Netflix in NZ, then went to Canada for a month where it's not on Netflix, it's a weekly show on CTV (a free to air Canadian commercial TV network owned by Bell Canada - the biggest phone company).

The day before we left Canada, Trump won the election in the US. At that point the departure - the reality gap - between DS's fictional American political environment and the real one simply became too big for me. DS isn't a parallel American universe......it's a different planet entirely.

I couldn't watch it after that. The honourable guy struggling to be a good president despite disaster and everything.........just became too unreal.  Trump and the ignorant Republican savages in Congress.....aren't that.....or even close.
