This is not current but I think its on next week on TV1. Georges Simenon a writer from Belgium who wrote the Maigret Books. These appeared between 1932 and 1972. Maigret is a Fictional French detective. When I was in High School in the early 1970's I used to read the books and was hooked on them. What is more topical is that Rowan Aitkinson is playing the lead role of Jules Maigret. I am so looking forward to watching these. Have set my DVR recorder to record them.

Brit cop series 'Marcella' on Netflix. One of those shows where the characters are impossibly closely interconnected in the plot - but a great watch nonetheless.

Pretty sure this got mentioned here before but mentioning about it again is worth it. Black Mirror! Just finished Season 1... Watched S01E01 years ago but only got to finish the season now. What is it about this series that the episodes just gets to you...

Very true that. Just watched S3 - superb - best TV series I have seen for ages. Apparently S4 is due to screen sometime in 2017.

Been watching The Crown from netflix. The show outline didn't enthrall me much but the Mrs wanted to watch. After the first episode I was pretty impressed and the show just continues to deliver. Really good writing, good acting and interesting piece of history. Highly recommend.

I hated the first episode. They turned it into a Jason Bourne spy thriller which wasn't very thrilling.

The second episode was superb though, a return to form of what got me into Sherlock in the first place.

I've been checking out Incorporated. Very cool new sci-fi. I'm liking it. Great use of CGI to show future tech concepts. Recommended.

Started watching Shooter on Netflix and after E1 thought it was great. But IMO it went downhill from there - just watched the second-to-last episode and nearly gave up on the whole thing. However had just finished watching Line of Duty which was so good it spoilt me and made other, probably quite-decent shows, seem silly.

Shooter comes out weekly and I guess I'll hang in there for the last one next week.

This week I watched "The OA" on Netflix. I really liked it.

A young women disappears for 7 years and then re-appears. What happened during those 7 years is central to the story......and I won't spoil it by saying any more.

No cliffhangers here. The end is the end.....unless for some reason they decide it isn't.

It's a bit like Night Gallery or Twilight Zone from decades ago.....compelling alternative narratives that make you think.
