Is anyone else appreciating the irony of nzpost getting their own new youshop address postcode wrong? Just received the email which says they're sorry about it. They're not usually sorry if someone else gets it wrong.

Sounds like Australia to me, NZ's GST has very few exemptions,
If there was a way to import goods for education without GST I am sure this would be a well used dodge for anyone wanting to buy a New laptop off the web.....
Am not referring to an average Joe just calling themselves a "school" then claiming everything will be without GST. (what a huge loophole that would be!)
I am working for a University and would get it shipped to the University's address, and it would be for the purpose of a course I'm teaching. I think under this very narrow definition it would be ok, while the link you gave is for businesses so isn't relevant.

Either pay by wire transfer or hire a parcel forwarder to assisted purchase it. I don't think there is a proper way you could pay through Paypal unless you have an US credit card.
timmmay: You had bad luck Elpie. Youshop isn't an express service, and it's new so it's undeveloped. Use shipitto if you want an express service with more features.
Ten days in the warehouse before being shipped. Eight days on its way to NZ. No sign of them arriving in NZ yet. I get mail from the US faster than this!
YouShop should never be regarded as an express service, it never has been called that either. It simply is a way to (relatively) cheaply get items to NZ that would've otherwise never shipped here, and for that I love it!
I just tonight order a Chrome book for only US$129.99 direct from Acer to my YouShop address! :-D

Does Amazon still like to ship boxes of air? Wanted to get a Logitech keyboard which I know someone had shipped to NZ a couple of months ago but since then you can't get it shipped to NZ. I smell a Logitech regional price fixing scam.

Wouldn't be a good idea to wait around... they're already sold nearly four thousand of them in only 24hrs! (and it has been going on for longer than 24hrs too, so who knows how many they've sold in total?)
Personally I spent about two minutes (maybe five minutes max) quickly reading reviews on it (especially in comparison with the US$249 Samgsung Chromebook, which is its closest direct competitor) then purchased it ASAP!

So can't use these services which supply a US verified PayPal/credit-card payment for those pesky sellers who insist on it.
Were you given a paypal account to send the payment to? Maybe you could try to ask the seller for his/her paypal account email address, send the email address and the item info to your parcel forwarder, and see if they'll help you from there. But before doing that, change the shipping address on your ebay account to the US address you got.

I wanted to buy a well known brand computer peripheral from Amazon after seeing that someone I know had ordered it and had it delivered here to NZ in May.
So I went and clicked on the exact same product (confirmed via the previous invoice as being the same product code) and was told that this item could not ship to NZ.
I queried this with Amazon and was told that it was due to NZ Customs/import restrictions, which has to be complete bull dung.
So what's the deal? Does the local representative for the brand go to Amazon and tell them to stop shipping their products to NZ at half the NZ price (landed by expedited courier)??
