I am not sure that is restricted to MS. I spent 10 minutes looking for something on TM yesterday, because it said to click on "My Trade Me" and I would find it. What it failed to clarify was that "Click on My Trade Me" does not mean the menu bar item so labelled. Oh no. It means that menu bar item and THEN the secondary listing of "My Trade Me" under that menu bar item...!

If only they had spelled it right in the first place.

Doh! meter reader visiting residence as smart meters faulty and not transmitting data reliably. 

 

 

Queried power provider, nope meter is working fine, should not be reading the meter.

 

 

Why would a burglar want to know your meter reading?

As a careful burglar, the serial meter readings can be a surrogate of activity in the house. Minimal change over time is consistent with the occupants being absent. Easier than keeping a continuous watch on the house.

Yeah... one burglary trick for bachs is to turn the mains off. If, when you come back, it hasn't been turned back on, you know that no-one has been there.

I hated those brands back many years ago when I had an after school job stacking shelves at the supermarket. 

Websites that do this. The Neowin popup covers a large chunk of the page and pops up on every new link or story you look at. It will never make me subscribe or disable my ad blocker. The Verge has the right way o do a smallish banner that appears at the top of the page and does not stop viewing of the site. I am more likely to subscribe or disable ad blockers if teh site is reasonable with their request.
