e-scooters, full stop.

It's like adults riding BMX bikes. Why would you want to appear to be an overgrown child?

I had to go out onto the road in my chair to get around scooters on the pavement. They should have dedicated parking areas.

Is it electric? You could fit some sort of 'snowplough' attachment...! 😇

Geektastic:

... Why would you want to appear to be an overgrown child?

Because:

  • it's too far to walk from the train station to home
  • I detest waiting for and sitting on the bus
  • it's cheap to run
  • it's environmentally friendly
  • it's fun to ride (except when it rains)
  • I don't care if it makes me look like an overgrown child

Totally agree with MikeB4's sentiment.  I don't leave mine blocking the footpath (besides, someone would steal it) and I slow right down and give way to all pedestrians.  They're a valid means of transport if used sensibly, responsibly and with consideration for others.

Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

Senecio: Trying to enjoy breakfast at a nice local cafe when little Johnny at a nearby table whips out Mum’s phone to watch cartoons at full volume. Twice the cafe staff asked the parents to turn it down, twice the request was ignored.

Give the kid some earphones FFS!

Nah give the kid responsible and good parents would be better.

When people sit in the outer sets on busy public transport, and then make you climb over them rather than move inwards (or give you an offended look when you gesture you'd like to sit in the empty seat)

But I'm an excellent driver...it's all those other idiots that are causing the problems!

floydbloke:

Timetables, official schedules, programme guides etc. that show times using a 12-hour clock. (Sorry, it's because of the continental European in me.)

I was once asked to make a system to automate timetable generation (and the resulting TTs would be viewed by the general public). I did it all in 24-hour time, and was asked to change it all to 12 because "it will be easier to understand". *headdesk*
