Magnitude 5.2 earthquake located near Picton has shaken the centre of the country

Who would have thought - an earthquake shakes the area near it...

Perhaps Magnitude 5.2 earthquake shakes Picton or Magnitude 5.2 earthquake shakes centre of country would have been better.

"Murder is as dated as the Old Testament. It is obliquitous"

Obliquitous: a term for axial tilt in astronomy.

The word they were searching for and failing to find was probably ubiquitous...so, great proof reading there - you have created a sentence that makes no sense at all.

Another Stuff quiz fail.

Oh yes they can - it's urban myth they can't (and bite instead):

"The pre-sentence report says you presented as one of the most egregious [outstandingly bad] examples of recidivist alcohol-impaired driving and have a highly distorted attitude to drink-driving," he said.

Why was it necessary to explain the meaning of the word egregious in square brackets? If those reading lack a standard adult understanding of English, they are welcome to open a copy of the OED and look up the word.

Oh dear he should go to Sydney and its red roofs and blue backyards.

Whilst the difficult we can do immediately, the impossible takes a bit longer. However, miracles you will have to wait for.

It's a failing. I'm perpetually surprised by stupidity.

Conversely, I have known people that lack literacy skills, they make up for in un-stupidity. Yes, it's not a real word, but I don't have an antonym on hand that accurately describes un-stupid. Smart or Intelligent is a bit to far the other way. Cognisant ?

SepticSceptic: un-stupidity.

i.e. Common Sense. Not always as common as you'd hope though.

Piriform, the maker of CCleaner, has pulled v5.45 of its suite from the website after users expressed concerns over the privacy changes in the application, the company, which was acquired by Avast last year, said.

That's like, a lot of, commas.

I think CCleaner's wasn't helped by the following

https://www.theverge.com/2017/9/18/16325202/ccleaner-hack-malware-security

"Hackers have successfully breached CCleaner's security to inject malware into the app and distribute it to millions of users. Security researchers at Cisco Talos discovered that download servers used by Avast (the company that owns CCleaner) were compromised to distribute malware inside CCleaner.Sep 18, 2017"
