Noel Leemings Et Al, who's websites indicate they are THERE for you, HELPING you, saving you by providing you essentials!!

The email they sent also say s

During this time we will be delivering appliances but we are unable to install or remove existing appliances at this stage.

That isn't much good if you are ordering something heavy like a fridge, washing machine etc , and it is often the heavy things that are essentials. So getting it inside and installing it could be impossible for many. I would have thought the email would say how people are supposed to deal with moving and installing the essential appliance. Also since when is a TV an essential?

To be fair, a TV is a good way to keep people nice and quiet and inside, where they are supposed to be.

I understand your point, but people can only sit inside playing with their belly button lint for so long :)

I was thinking about it, and I guess it is also the way that many people keep up to date on what is happening with this.

A TV may not save a life but it could save a mind. When you are bed ridden and in pain distraction can sometimes be the best medicine.

The fact that a slow cooker is apparently not an 'essential item' according to Noel Leeming. Even more annoying, many similar items (kettles, toasters, microwaves - even Nespresso machines!) - are essential.

Ours packed in last year so I was going to replace it. Did not do so before The Event so figured a cooker would be an essential item when the rules were reset but no. Just to be even more annoying, they put it on offer expiring at the end of the month then refuse to sell it to you....

Crockpot Express Crock XL Multi Cooker   4.9 (4 reviews) CPE300 178605 $189.99   PRICE OFFER ENDS 31 MARCH 2020.

NON-ESSENTIAL ITEM - WE ARE UNABLE TO TAKE ORDERS ON NON-ESSENTIAL ITEMS AT THIS TIME

That Doom Eternal is $120 digitally when it was only $99 to buy physically in store which required shipping and all the other things. It's even $120 on PC!!!

I know it's only $20, I can afford it, but I resent it.

I'd send you my copy if it was physical. I played about 10 minutes before I got to the bit that exists in every game especially to ensure I never finish it!

Why they do not allow you to just turn on immortal mode if you want to, I do not know. The game is yours - you paid for it - so what if you just want to enjoy walking through the world shooting stuff?!

That there doesn't seem to be any way, certainly not any obvious straightforward way, to remove yourself from the Mylotto database. You can turn off all the emails (which doesn't actually work), but you can't close your account. I find this surprising for a semi-official NZ organisation. If anyone knows a way I missed to get off Mylotto's spam list, kindly share.

My latest peeve is reading that Harvey Norman have sent a note to all of their landlords stating that they won't pay rent during the Lockdown and that they would assume that everyone accepts their terms within 24 hrs.

I'd just lock them out.

Imagine if a renter simply told a landlord in the domestic space that they are no longer paying rent?

*Disclaimer - I may only have part of the story, which is probably why I am so outraged by this.

Imagine if you were a problem gambler, they give you plenty of chances to change your mind don't they. Inadvertently, of course.

As a matter of responsibility it should be possible to delete your account.

Save your feelings for something else. There are certain clauses that may allow for this to happen - but it is not clear who can use it, how much can be held from the payment, etc. HN couldn't simply say "We won't pay" as I am sure lawyers will get involved. More information here.

While mid-way through a weld today, a small piece of slag managed to burn it's way through the bottom of my overalls and drop into my boot, through a thick woolen sock, and rest on the top of my foot. Being mid-way through the run, I couldn't stop, so instead got to try and dance on one foot, shaking the other vigorously, all the while trying to keep my hands steady to finish properly.

There was much cursing and cussing coming from under the welding helmet!

(To be fair, I am laughing about it now and had someone witnessed my little dance, I'm sure they would have been rather amused).

I'm sure that if it been witnessed, it would have been filmed and uploaded to Facebook of whatever for the world to see :-)

Today's hate is stupid forums (not GZ!). I made a post on another forum last week. Today I got an email saying that it's been a week and I haven't marked any of the replies as an answer, so can I please do so? Except nobody actually bothered to reply to my post in the first place. How about actually checking the reply count before sending emails?

Of course, the really annoying thing is that this is the official support forum for a piece of software, where questions are regularly ignored if they reach more than about 5/100 on the complexity meter.

On that vein, "Official community support forums" from companies that only provide email-based support to paid customers. You post real problems, a bunch of people reply with ideas but you never see anyone from the company replying or solving a problem.

A bit like Google product support. And Microsoft. And a bunch of other places.
