probably bigger than something small that annoys me but doing the grocery run this morning and seeing multiple used gloves left in trolleys or dropped in the car park
!5 minutes into a 45 minute program and still getting the names of the actors popping up.

One that I watch has about 100 episodes so far, and if you were to jump into the latest episode with no context then you'd have no idea what's going on. Despite that, and despite the availability of on-demand allowing you to start at episode 1, every time a character appears for the first time in each episode there's a little 'title card' that pops up with their name.

Today's hate is stupid forums (not GZ!). I made a post on another forum last week. Today I got an email saying that it's been a week and I haven't marked any of the replies as an answer, so can I please do so? Except nobody actually bothered to reply to my post in the first place. How about actually checking the reply count before sending emails?
Of course, the really annoying thing is that this is the official support forum for a piece of software, where questions are regularly ignored if they reach more than about 5/100 on the complexity meter.
On that vein, "Official community support forums" from companies that only provide email-based support to paid customers. You post real problems, a bunch of people reply with ideas but you never see anyone from the company replying or solving a problem.
A bit like Google product support. And Microsoft. And a bunch of other places.
For me this is Plex - paid product, lack of official support/roadmap, armchair "forum experts" when you say Ive tried A B C they reply with I don't understand have you tried XYZ which is verbatim what you tried on step B.
you tube -watching the pre-roll adverts, pausing it to make a cup of tea and then being stuck with a longer non-skippable advert when you resume play.
Finally got round to ripping my Elementary Season 3 DVD box. 6 discs. Turnout it contains 2 copies of disc 6 and no disc 5.

Fireworks in suburbia after 10:00 pm when it's not Guy Fawkes, in fact even if it was Guy Fawkes that's still too late in my opinion.

Perhaps we could invite him to our neighbourhood to give the same speech? 🙂

That BNZ have again stuffed up their mobile app.
Now when you type in an amount to transfer, for example $1234 the app recognises it as $2341... (transposes first value entered into last place)
How incompetent can the developers and then testers of these apps be - this is surely the first fail in testing a banking app that the amount entered is actually the amount shown.... sheesh....
Of course, number input is something that's supported natively by the OS, but the developers have decided that they can do a 'better' job than the OS vendor. Westpac's just as bad; I can't enter cents into the transfer field when using my Japanese keyboard.

The thing that annoys me is the fun police when things like this are done sensibly at a decent hour and people go off about it:
Case in point - one of our neighbours celebrated a lockdown birthday of significance and had some fireworks in his garden with his kid around the 7.30-8pm mark.
Local Facebook community page lit up like a Christmas Tree and the cops were called.
They did a drive-by and looked around but by the time they arrived the spectacular display was well and truly over (it lasted around 3-4 minutes).
My neighbour flagged them down from behind his gate and asked if they were looking for him...they had a chat and moved on - no harm done and no arrests made (or warnings given).
Surely there are better things cops could be doing instead of looking for people doing normal things in abnormal times.

Did Eric Clapton really think she looked wonderful...or was it after the 15th outfit she tried on and he just wanted to get to the party and get a drink?
