Well, everyone's always suspected that Aramex is s**t (ignore the logo, carrier will be Aramex), now we have proof:

I just hope it's a high-fibre diet and the movement takes place soon.

On an unrelated note, why do images on here display about 1/3 larger than they should be? I've noticed this a number of times when posting stuff, just ran into it again, from the fuzziness around the text edges it looks like there's scaling built into the image display.

I'm not sure about the size, but I believe Geekzone recompresses everything to JPEG, which isn't ideal for non-photo content.

FailedWOF:

  • Package 4:

    • Pickup Fri 23/09 in Palmerston North
    • No scan since pickup. Escalated yesterday and now there's a "depot search" as it apprently "hadn't been handed over to the driver"

An update to Package 4. It was delivered this afternoon, with the packaging torn open and half the contents missing. So now the supplier has to deal with what sounds to be a convoluted claims process with NZ Couriers as well as a re-ship. They also confirmed they pay a premium for overnight so NZ Couriers are happy to take the extra money and simply not deliver to the expectation that comes with it, which is a rort plain and simple.

When their own network status dashboard shows green almost across the board (meaning normal service standards), there's little excuse for consistently failing to actually deliver to the described service standard. I acknowledge there will always be unforseen situations outside of their control, but the service actually received is for too consistently poor to be written off as an anomaly. Unless of course their uncommunicated definition of overnight means 4-5 workings days.

Thankfully the supplier has marked my account to ship via NZ Post from now on, and the replacements were picked up an hour ago. Estimated due date is Monday and unlike with NZ Couriers I have high confidence the target will be met.

You got the browser zooming the site to make it usable? I often run this place at 125%.

I have had a DHL branded van drop things off that were sent DHL, so not all are handed over to aramex. Shame they fell out with nzpost because it could go to the po box in the past.

Seems that its the amazon parcels that get handed over to them for me.

Just got something from Japan. Monday, pickup in Osaka, Tuesday, Singapore and then Sydney, Wednesday, delivered just after lunch. That's about as long as it takes NZ courier companies to get it across town.

Oh, looks like Synnex have switched to Aramex... which I guess explains why the part I ordered on Tuesday morning hasn't been delivered yet ("Your parcel is now onboard with our rural contractor" - except I'm not rural). Synnex->NZ Couriers 99.9% were delivered next day.

The Freightways group strikes again. This time it's Post Haste rather than NZ Couriers.

Order placed on Thursday last week. At 8.41am yesterday morning the supplier emailed me to say they received an update from Post Haste that they couldn't access my address. While I can't discount that I'm living in some sort of black hole, I find that highly unlikely as NZ Post were able to deliver a package at 9.13am. The exact same scenario happened with NZ Couriers back in July - the driver marked my address as unreachable but both NZ Post and FedEx delivered pacakages that same day. It's not like I live down some sort of long and winding ROW - I have direct street frontage and it's 10m from kerb to gate/doorbell.

I'm expecting the same response to any sort of complaint this time - tumbleweeds. NZ Couriers are 0/4 for on-time/successful deliveries at the moment and Post Haste have joined the board at 0/1, taking Freightways to an impressive 0/5 overall. I have another package picked up in Kapiti yesterday by NZ Couriers so let's if they can buck the trend and we get to 1/5 or will they continue the trend and hit 0/5. Place your bets.

It's at the point now where if any suppliers use any of the Freightways brands and they're unwilling to use another (dare I say it, ideally NZ Post as they're at 98% overnight success for my parcels), then I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

i wish companies would tell you what Courier company they use, because if i know it is going to be NZ couriers i would avoid them , [probably answered my question], i have a parcel picked up last Friday morning from Hamilton to Rotorua , an hour or so down the road, and it is still in transit Wednesday morning. hopeless.

Note this thread is principally about NZ Post Courier (prev known as CourierPost), not NZ Couriers (a Freightways company)

^^ This. I would definitely direct my shopping to places that used a courier I knew was competent (and it does seem to vary by place. My NZPost courier is awesome). Or else know to pick click and collect rather than delivery if I knew delivery was with certain couriers.

Or perhaps even give you shipping options between courier companies, rather than just pay $X more for a faster failure to deliver on time.
