Behodar:

I'm annoyed on behalf of a friend. He had a deal from his ISP to get nine months of a streaming service for free. Three months later it tells him that his subscription has expired. The streaming service told him to take it up with the ISP, and the ISP says that it was always a three-month deal and that a nine-month deal never existed. This is despite the fact that the ISP is still advertising the nine-month deal on its site as we speak.

The Commerce Commission would love to know more.

I was cutting some steel and aluminium on Friday - wearing my PPE - including +1.5 safety glasses.  Problems commenced after I finished - I took the safety glasses off, and a tiny shard of swarf dropped from my hair straight into my eye - thought I'd washed it out OK - but woke up Saturday with the feeling of a rock under my eyelid.

I hope there is no lasting damage. Maybe see a doctor?

I switched to using a visor after being caught the same way.

Jebus, that sounds awful! Hopefully, you have it sorted now?

I thought I had it a couple of times - only to find out an hour or two later that it was still there - I probably just moved it to a less irritating spot, then it started irritating again.

My last ditch DIY effort (before A&E/24 hour clinic) worked. I could see the offending sliver had dropped into the eye cup.  All good now.

It's possible that the irritant has scratched something during it's journey.  That itself can feel like there's still something there.  Very painful and annoying.

May be worth getting an Optometrist to have a quick look to check all is good (other than annoyance).

You are braver than I. I think I would have had one, exceptionally careful go myself (or got my wife to actually) and then I would have attended an A&E pronto. Eyes are full of soft tissue, easily permanently damaged. Being from Canterbury, some would say I am one-eyed enough :)

I'd recommend the same. A good investment of an hour of your time.

I don't know where to put this but I just saw a commercial on American TV for Crest toothpaste, that actually said parents shouldn't worry about their kids gorging on Halloween sweets because 'Crest has you covered'. In other words, their toothpaste will cancel any damage done by the sugar! I wonder if it also cures diabetes?

Even in America, I find this incredible. Crest is made by Procter and Gamble, who also have products here like Oral B. They deserve to be boycotted into hell for a stunt like that. Talk about shameless, not to mention hypocritical lying greedy dishonest BS!

Left Taupo Motel (pouring rain) entire bottle sans one measure of Barkers Lemon Ginger syrup leaked into boot over everything beneath it. Yes, lid was tightened when packed, however... 'someone'... lay the zipped chilly bag on its side on top of the other bags. Gravity took care of the rest. You don’t ever want this to happen on the way to your next destination. So glad to be back home.

I'm working from home and thought I'd put the TV on in the background ... wow .. I did not know so much drivel gets spouted out on air in the mornings!
