Geektastic: Coincidentally, they make fine firearms in Brno which you can use!
That Kkckrchttkrzckkthphtui house is actually in Brno.
Edited: Sorry, Olomouc, but not far from Brno.

Geektastic: NZ Post. Again.
Tracking website currently says
“Estimated delivery time: yesterday”
Progress bar says “With depot, East Tamaki”
I raise you with NZ Post. Says delivery Great North Road Grey Lynn with correct post code. Delivers to Henderson, different post code same street number and name. Not signed for, residential address, person apparently denying they recieved.
I think we need a separate thread for "what annoying thing has a courier done today". It would overtake this thread pretty quickly, but might get repetitive.
Why, given L1 COVID at this moment, are couriers ignoring signature required stickers. Surely, it's reasonable to require a signature, or at least get a freaking name!

neb: The fact that when you're helping anyone over the age of about 60 with a computer issue that requires signing in or authenticating to anything anywhere and ask "OK, what's your password" you get the same look a cow gives an oncoming train.
When you're helping someone who has no awareness of any shortcuts, hotkeys or any other thing that will shorten the tedious period watching them type in their password on the computer (with two fingers, if you're lucky) , then reach for the mouse and move it to click 'ok/enter etc.'
Just press enter !! Your hand was right by it !
I've got colleagues who've been using computers for decades who still do this.
There are new UI's make it impossible to simply click enter after entering credentials. Have to use a mouse.
Ditto for Windows 10 - not easy to sleep / shutdown - have to use a mouse. Tabbing just seems to move randomly all over the start window.
Windows 7 was easy - Winkey, right arrow, enter
Oh God. Why oh WHY did MS remove the ability to use a keyboard key to select the region during Windows set up. To get to New Zealand, you have to use a mouse or pointer now! You can't do what you have always done and type N 3 times to get to New Zealand. WHY!?
Geektastic: Having seen the level of technology used for delivery elsewhere, I can only say that we need a massive investment in courier tech in NZ.
Home delivery is only going to increase in the Covid world so whoever gets their stuff together first in NZ has the opportunity to do very well.
As the receiver you don't get any say in which courier company is used though.
On the several occasions I have had to contact the sender regarding delivery, none have seemed particularly bothered about the actual delivery.
Thrown over fence, not signed for, left a card even though gate was open etc.
All they seem to care about is non-delivery, and sometimes not even then.
Delete cookies?! Are you insane?!

...
Winkey-D, Alt-F4, up/down arrow-keys for preferred option, Enter
(some apps may prevent the desired action though)
but yes, much more cumbersome than Win-7
Sometimes I use big words I don't always fully understand in an effort to make myself sound more photosynthesis.

I have seen the behaviour you describe on some web sites/services but for users who don't even try to use enter e.g. when logging into windows, I get annoyed while waiting.

Or when you're waiting for them to enter a username and password. Type username, remove hands from keyboard, switch to mouse, click password field, move back to keyboard, type password, move back to mouse, click submit button. Argh!
Tangentially related is software that tells you to press the wrong key. I used a Mac app that told me to press Enter to continue. Pressing Enter did nothing; it actually required me to press Return (on a Mac keyboard, Return is next to ' and Enter is on the numeric pad).

Due for a customer revolt. If every time a card is left unnecessarily we contacted the seller for a refund due to non-delivery, they'd start to pick the couriers that deliver.
"No, actually, I paid for delivery to my house, not to somewhere within 15km of my house. I'll have my money back, thank you."

I know. Then you mention 'the tab key' and they look at you with a 'that sounds complicated' look on their face.

That is true. Many times I have had discussions because the chosen courier won't, for example, deliver to rural addresses or PO Boxes. My suggestion that they just use one that will seems to be a bit hard to understand for some.
Likewise I have been asked so many times "Do you have another address in town we could use?"
Oh yes - I actually own houses in several types of geographical situation merely so that we can find one your chosen courier can be bothered to deliver to.
