What did happen to the gaming stuff? Did they decide to go out of it or was the carpet pulled by MS/Sony etc at first sign of trouble?
Can i just say what an abosulte joke the sales are. Went in to buy the remaining ps4 games they had at their price of $20 and has been since that fire sale.Normal ticket price.
So strolled in and went to the games section the game driveclub which had a $20 pricetag on it a day or two earlier had huge signs covering the whole game saying huge savings driveclub now only $40!!!!!!!!!!!
IS that a joke or what?
I bought a logitech wireless mouse for 20% off $24. Wanted mouse and it was easier than going elsewhere. Underwhelmed.
I was expecting a sale off the ticket price, not for it to literally double in price and be counted as a discount.
I popped into the Hastings store today. There was still a fair bit of stock, prices as others have mentioned, nothing any cheaper than anywhere else, a lot of it dearer. The receivers must think people are really stupid.
Plesse igmore amd axxept applogies in adbance fir anu typos
amiga500: Not paying attention the big sign actually says 'Every Thing on Sale'.
They have a few 1tb Seagate drives on sale at last. (Maybe they were buried under the boxes of terrestrial arials)
As of today these are $119.95 at Riccarton. Meanwhile just down the mall Noel Leeming has 1tb WD for exactly the same price and the Seagates on special for $99.95.
So this shows how bargains are few and far between, so far.
Does anyone know what their pricing on Terrestrial Aerials is? I need a UHF aerial in a couple of weeks. No DSE anywhere near where I work but would consider a lunch journey if they were well priced.
EDIT: $69 according to their website. Not cheap enough to make me go there.
Walked around the Queensgate mall store on Sunday for a bit.. looking for a bargain. None found. Left.

I've bought them on special from DSE for $49 in the past, so at this point the sale is not even matching their previous specials (ignoring the recent fire sale).

Wonder if they will close the 3 smaller Dick Smith shops in Christchurch fairly soon, & truck the remaining stock to the Riccarton 'super' store? The other shops are Hornby, Northwood, and The Palms. Space at the Riccarton DSE would not be a problem.
The re-appearance of the hard drives suggest that they might be shuffling stock around as they had none of those portable hard drives for around six weeks.

If they do that, and keep closing stores and moving the remaining stock to the remaining store, eventually there will be one shop packed to the ceiling with $40 HDMI cables.

Haha! Gold!
My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
