Gordy7:

Despatched 13 May using Cainiao Super Economy.

Accepted by Last Mile Carrier in NZ 6 June.

Now 19 Aug.... package has been in NZ (last mile carrier) 74 days

Look through earlier. 'Last Mile carrier' Is highly likely NOT NZ. But a forwarding company with a bag labelled 'NZ' on a coastal China border. Jumping between either Denmark, or Africa. Before getting here.

Searching that term will find a few hits on different postal delay threads.

Per previous. Chuck the numbers here to look into, or 17track - https://www.17track.net/en . If you know it's Cainiao you have a head start already. (there's a reason it says super economy... all Shipping costs have gone up with less flights, so they are finding the cheapest method. Usually bulk drop ship)

got this from nzpost today too...

We still are experiencing major international delays with parcels in and out of New Zealand due to insufficient airfreight capacity and COVID-19 government restrictions.  We expect this to continue for some time.

How long should I wait for goods I have not received?

snip....

As the buyer protection ran out I raised a Dispute with Aliexpress for a Refund.

The seller keeps asking me to cancel the Dispute.

I have had my refund request accepted by Aliexpress as total non-delivered delay was 98 days.... buyer protection limit was 90 days.

Delivery was handled by Cainaio Super Economy and the goods were with the last mile carrier for 74 days.

So my July 15 order arrived out of the blue today. Ali website still hasn't updated. I suspect at least part of the hold-up is with NZ Customs - my parcel has been repackaged.

AliExpress has been quick to process disputes for undelivered items. I've had two resolved in the past day, one being escalated and one going directly to AliExpress to handle.

If you use AliExpress shipping, any issues relating to logistics go directly to AliExpress to handle. You're not forced to wait several more days while you wait for the seller to respond and 'negotiate'. I've never had a package be delayed significantly using AliExpress Standard Shipping, but I've twice had items fail to ship. Unfortunately, you still need to wait 10 days after the seller claims the item shipped to file the dispute.

Interesting, thanks for the info. I just had an Ali dispute handled within two days and have the refund, as you say the seller wasn't involved. Wouldn't have bothered me really, I added a note to say I'd be fine with extending it another 30 days but they just auto-approved it.

LYuen:

Get 3 parcels coming with different shipment method

2 via SG, one is 4PX Singapore Post OM Pro, with tracking number UBxxxxSG

According to the number, this should be an untracked item.

The second one is AliExpress Standard Shipping but turns out to be via SG, with number LPxxxxSG

The number means it is a registered air-mail.

The final one is China Post Registered Air Mail, with number LExxxxCN.  I chose ePacket on the order but apparently the seller chose a cheaper one.

UBxxxxSG was handed over to airline on 11 July and I received no further update.

LPxxxxSG outbound from China on 24 July and dispatched from Singapore on 1 Aug, no clue did it arrived in NZ or not.

LExxxxCN, the most recent order, handed over to airline in China on 17 Aug.

None of the items via SG appear on NZPost tracking, but it showed 'picked up' for the China Post one.

This should be an interesting race.

What I have noted is that, sellers may not use the specific shipping method you selected from the free shipping range.

Especially when there are extra notes in the order, e.g. combined orders.

It may be a good idea to avoid sellers who list shipping via SG as one of their shipping methods.

Update

Out of nowhere the LPxxxxSG appeared on NZPost tracker as international departure from SG.  NZPost website was updated on 19 Aug but showing that it was last updated on 1 Aug (When SGPost updated the status on their website).

And the untracked UBxxxxSG just past the halfway mark of the 90 days dispute period.

Just wanted to share my experience. I ordered July 10, and been checking the Ali Express site weekly for updates. Then I ordered another item July 18 and it came last week so I checked my orders from July 10 and the update shows delivery failed but looking at the tracker it does not even show arrived in country. So I contacted the seller, and they both told me to collect at post shop. I then tried the tracking number in the NZ Post website and lo and behold, apparently an attempt was made on the 13th of Aug which was odd as I have been WFH. Long story short, I collected it today. What surprised me was that I just found out that the tracking number provided by Ali Express can actually be tracked in NZ Post. At a guess, this started when GST was applied.

One package I'd been waiting for was still showing departed China with no further updates after it had arrived.

Being a tiger for punishment I've since ordered another item from AliExpress, mainly beacuse I couldn't find it anywhere else. There is a small chance it mighn't be what I want but at the price it's worthe the risk.

Not sure when you ordered but try tracking it using NZ Post in case you get a result.

In my experience China post and Yanwen so far are the best. Takes 4 weeks. The worst are: Cainiao and 4PX - never arrived.

One item with tracking UB139058517SG says "Hand over to airline" but nothing since 21st of June. Emailed Sing Post and been told that they havent received this parcel

Did anybody receive from Cainiao recently?

4PX is untracked shipment so this is completely normal, the package won't be scanned by SG Post even if they have processed it.

Handed over to airline should be the final tracking message.

I have a pending 4PX item that has been in transit for 50 days and hasn't arrived so ya.
