Geektastic:

I have to admit that made me laugh.

What do you find funny about it?

Geektastic:

Everything. It's a funny visual gag. It wound up pious eco zealots. It stuck two fingers up to Tesla drivers who think they deserve special places in car parks. And so on.

You realise that there are a lot of things you can do that are not strictly illegal, but still a**hattery, right?

Those are not special car parks, they are charging stations. In the more busy ones Tesla actually charge people for overstaying after charging to make sure people can have access to the charges.

The EV owners could do the same back to ICE people by turning up in droves to petrol stations and blocking the gas pumps and going into the station to have a coffee and read the newspapers. Thats not illegal either, but would be a**hattery.

Maybe they're really bitter people, and just need a bit of sweetness added to their life. Like a cupful of sugar somewhere...

How do you think that would end if you got caught?

Someone at work wired in a remote controlled mains switch to a Mr Grumpy’s monitor

They had him banging on the walls convinced it was a loose wire somewhere.

If I can find them cheap enough, my plan involves a bunch of left-hand-thread screws, bolts, and nuts...

They see me mowing, my front lawn...

For being snarky on a message board? Heck, they'd have to arrest half of GZ if that was a crime.

You really do come across as being very obnoxious with this. Tesla drivers don't "think they deserve special places in car parks", the business who owns or licenses those car parks has chosen to demarc car parks specifically for electric vehicles as a value added service, and either paid Tesla for a charging station to place there or was paid by Tesla to place a charging station there (I'm not across the commercials of these arrangements). What this is, is a 4x4 driver thinking he deserves to park contrary to the expressed wishes of the owner or exclusive licensee of the parking spaces. It's not funny, it's disrespectful.

I mean if someone actually did what you suggest.  Could result in a violent confrontation.

As silly as that might be, it's very informative and well-written for the intended user ti understand what goes where...

Looks more informative than the original promotional email was likely to be.

This must have passed at least three people: The signwriter, the contractor who physically installed it, and the client themselves. Apparently none of them noticed the typo.

Handle9:

The easiest work around if it is a problem is to change the power button setting to do nothing. You just shut down using windows.

I tried it and you're (all) right that it needs a longer press to do anything.

Still, strikes me a a bit thoughtless - it's one of the prime positions to put frequently used keys because it's easy to feel for the corner button and whatever is next to it.

I notice poor industrial design too often. We've got a sony tv which is generally very good but the remote has flush buttons and is weighted in such a way that if you pick it up in the dark, you can't tell which way round it is.

All it would take would be some tactile elements.
