Lizard1977: What earthly reason would you need an electric blanket to be "on", but not producing any heat. If it was getting too hot and you wanted to turn down the heat you could drop it down to 1, but if you drop it down to 0, why not just use the off switch, which has the same function?

temp scale of 0 is useful for my elec blanket.....so you can set it to come on high heat for a couple of hours then drop to 0 (or 1 or whatever). 0 just means off though.

Many people who have a cold are under the misconception that they have 'the flu'.

Logic much? "Never had one and never had flu" is a really bad logical statement. It doesn't prove that the flu shot doesn't work. It also doesn't prove that not haven't flu shots will prevent flu.

The only thing it proves is you never had flu. Or perhaps you had and never noticed.

If you had flu shots and always had flu then you could say it doesn't work, but proving negative with non-evidence... Crazy talk.

That is the equivalent of saying salt is a tiger repellent because you eat salt with your meals and have never been attacked by a tiger. I used to get the flu all the time when I was younger. I dreaded the winter. Since I qualified for free jabs several years ago, I have not had a single case of the flu or even a cold. I swear by them.

Pretty sure that no one has ever had genuine influenza (an illness that is capable of killing millions) and "never noticed"!

I've never had a Yellow Fever vaccination and never had Yellow Fever either, so they obviously do not work.

OTOH I have had a Japanese Encephalitis vaccination and never had JE, so now I am confused....

yep, also the folks who say they had such a bad cold it became the Flu

Only fuzzy-brained Anglo types use the archaic am/pm designations anyway. The advanced nations of the world do not have to re-use the same numbers because they can't count past 12. They know how to tell time the grown-up way, with the 24 hours god intended. There can be no mistaking 0600 hours with 1800, even at the South Pole.
